Barry

It was late out, I looked up at the night sky being able to see the stars shine and I could feel the cold wind rushing past me as I ran. I stopped running once inhaling the night air.

For now the city was safe from zoom. I haven't rested since we found out about him. We've tried to find ways to beat him but we couldn't. Every time we thought we could beat him he seemed to be one step ahead of us. Harry came up with new theories that could possibly be the one way to defeat him. I tried to run more hoping I could get faster but it hasn't happened yet. I've trained and ran but ever since the fight with zoom I haven't been getting faster, and it only stressed me out more.

It was late in the middle of the night when I looked at a young woman walking down the sidewalk. I stared at her as I realized who she was. Lana was walking as she held her sweater closer to her. I watched as her hair was blown back by the wind. I smiled and quickly changed into my regular clothes and caught up with her.

I jogged to where she was and called out for her to notice me. I didn't know where I was getting this courage but I was going for it. I wanted to be able to get close to someone and not be afraid of what would happen.

"Lana!" I yelled out

She turned around quickly and waved at me with a smile on her face, "Hey! what are you doing out so late?" I ask her standing beside her

"I could ask you the same thing Barry" she smiles at me

"I couldn't sleep" I say scratching the back of my neck

She smiles and I look down at her hand to see cuts and dried up blood. My smile quietly dies as I reach out.

"What happened?" I ask taking her hands in mine

"Oh um someone learned the hard way not to mess with a woman" she chuckles pulling her hands away and placing them inside the pockets of her jacket

"So can I walk you home?" I ask her "you know because it's already late not that I'm trying to find an excuse to go to your house for something else because I wouldn't, not that I wouldn't want to because I would love to" I then stop talking and watch her smile at me

"So you don't want to get into my bed?" She asked staring at me

I looked at her not knowing what to say and right when I was going to say something she laughed. I was sure my face was red and I was glad that it was not daylight out.

"I'm messing with you Barry I understand" she says linking her arm with mine "I would be honored if you walked me home"

I watched as she pulled out her phone before typing something and putting it away again.  We began walking to her house and we laughed, There was never one silent moment between us.

"Yes she's a very smart person" I say referring to Caitlin "I don't know what we would do without her"

"She is, isn't she?" Lana says smiling then pulling away "this is me"
