Chapter 18

Lana

I walked into star labs rushing to the main room for the second time that day.

After Cisco had called me and said Caitlin needed me I dropped everything. And rushed to STAR labs. I couldn't believe it just earlier today I was talking to both Caitlin and Jay. Everyone was fine and then they weren't.

Everything does happen too fast.

And we never know if today will be our last day when we do the things we do. Either being the bad person or even being the good ones they always find a way, no one could really win.

"I tried to get her to go home but she refused to leave, I just sat with her until she fell asleep and then I called Lana" I could hear Cisco say

"I'm here" I say setting my bag down on the nearest chair

I stand next to them and see Caitlin's sleeping body on one of the beds in a back room that looks like a doctor's room.

"Lana" Barry says turning to face me

I looked at him and could see something behind his eyes. I wasn't quite sure what it was yet. Something was different with him and I couldn't tell what. It looked as if he was going to rush to my side but stopped himself as he took a step back.

"Hi" I say to both of them then turned to look back at Caitlin "I can't imagine how she must feel"

At first I could see both Barry and Cisco's eyes travel down to my stomach then back to my eyes.

He cleared his throat before nodding his head, "First Ronnie, now Jay" Barry says finally saying something

"I'm afraid what this double dose of grief is gonna do to her I mean she's pretty shell shocked" Cisco says

I walked past them as Harrison Wells walked to Barry and Cisco. I took a double take to make sure my eyes were right. Sure enough Harrison Wells was walking, he wasn't in a wheelchair as I thought he was after the explosion. Or even behind bars or dead as I had heard rumors of.

I ignored him knowing Caitlin needed me more and sat beside her. I felt bad that I worried about her safety for so long I never thought about the safety of her heart. I turned around and walked back to Cisco and Barry and stood next to them.

"I'm going to go home" Cisco says to us

Saying our goodbyes I turned to Barry who didn't meet my eyes, "I'm going to take her to my place so she's not alone" I tell him

"Yeah she's going to need you" Barry says never looking at me

"Is everything okay?" I ask him "with us I mean I haven't seen or talked to you for the past week. You are not avoiding me right?" I ask
