Chapter 5: The New Guy

It didn't occur to me that Penny had stopped talking until she repeats my name at least five times and snaps her fingers in front of my face to get my attention.

"Earth to Katie! What happened? You suddenly started mumbling jibberish once I told you that JP and I kissed. I didn't know that was to much for you!" She laughs but then follows my gaze.

"ohhhh. Who's that cutie? Oh... Wait. OHHHHHH KATIE!" She slaps me and makes me talk.

"SPEAK NOW OR FACE CERTAIN DEATH."

"He's. Soo. Hotttt." I mange to mumble.

"My goodness and he is with Aspen too. Who do you like more?"

"I didn't say I likes him! I for even know him." we both laugh and go on talking about this new guy.

I wonder if him and Aspen are close friends. It suddenly pops into my memory that I still haven't replied to Aspen's text and that I probably should. I reply with a "yes" and a minute later I receive a reply.

Aspen: k

K. K? K REALLY?! I hate texting guys.

The buzzer sounds to end the game and Penny and I move into the lobby. Aspen's hockey team is still in there. I spot Aspen in the group and he nods at me sending my a smile. I smile back and he waves me over.

"Hey Katie. What are are you doing here?"

"My brother plays hockey," I motion for Penny to come over,"Guys this is my friend Penny. Penny guys, guys penny." I Finnish my introductions and catch a glimpse at Penny and catch her checking Aspen out. I give her a quick nudge and she looks at me like she is oblivious to what she was doing. "We are going talk later" I mouth to her, glancing quickly between her and Aspen. She blushes. Great. The perfect chance to play matchmaker.
