"Hey are you hungry?" Max asks when we get into the car.
"Yeah I could eat!"
"Perfect. How about..."
"Bob's" We laugh as we say it at the same time.
"You read my mind" he says.
I smile. Bob's is a little diner in the town nearby us. Everyone goes there because it is open 24 hours a day. They serve basically everything, but Max and I love their chili fries.
We enter the building, go to our favorite corner and sit in the booth.
"What are you going to get?" I ask him.
"Do you even have to ask?" He laughs.
"No I guess you're right"
"Order for me then"
"What!? No!"
"Yup. You can do it."
The waiter walks up and my face goes red.
"What can I get for you guys?" She asks.
"Um I'll have a vanilla milkshake and chili fries please. And he'll have..." My mind blanks. "He'll have... a vanilla milkshake as well and then a cheeseburger with no cheese and extra pickles" I say uncertainly.
Max doesn't say anything so I give him a big smile. I feel so proud of myself.
"Nice going K"
"Ha! You thought I couldn't do it!" I tease him a little.
"My mistake" he laughs. "Should've known. You're always right"
"You really should have learned that by now" I tease and stick out my tongue at him. He just smiles a little.
Max's POV
I look at her perfect smile. She's so proud of herself. I didn't have it in my to ruin that by telling her I hate vanilla milkshakes. I usually order chocolate. And that I always have to have cheese on my burgers. But to make her happy I'd do anything.
