Reborn

Chapter 5

He was running. I was running. I wanted this stranger to hold me in his arms and never let me go.

But instead of taking me in his arms, there were strong hands around my neck. I was pushed to the ground and he was on top of me, pinning me down. I squealed and struggled for air. Kaylyn screamed.

"WHERE IS SHE? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER?" The man was screaming at me, he had tears in his eyes. My lungs were burning and begging for oxygen. Black spots swam across my vision. The man was incredibly strong and in the end it took both Kaylyn and Lucas to pull him off of me, even then he was still screaming.

"WHO ARE YOU?" He kept screaming questions with tears running down his face. Lucas tried calming him down but he was failing.

Kaylyn had ran over to me and helped me up, I was breathing heavily. I leaned on Kaylyn and felt my neck, it was tender and I knew there would be a bruise. How was I going to hide this from Mum?

Tears were rolling down my face, "Kaylyn why did he do that? What is he talking about?" I was still in shock from what just happened and my voice was hoarse. Why did I run to him? I didn't even know him. Who was he talking about?

"Adam calm down! You could have killed her." Lucas shouted at the guy but he didn't stop,

"Why are you protecting her!? She's an intruder!" He shouted,

"I'm protecting her because she might be linked to Fern's wolf." As Lucas said this Adam stopped and looked at me,

"Mara are you in there?" He looked at me,

As Adam said that I felt foreign in my body again, just like when I started running over to him. I wasn't able to control myself.

"Adam it's me... I love you." That wasn't me... but it was, I was speaking against my will. My voice sounded different, it was softer yet sounded weak. What was happening to me. My breathing became faster, my heart was thumping a million times a second.

"What happened to you?" Adam's voice called out and again something inside me answered,

"Maki... Maki happened... Adam, Fern's dead." There were gasps from everyone around me... Adam started screaming again.

"NO! NO! NO!" Adam kept repeating this as more tears fell down his face. Lucas stared at me as if waiting for a further explanation but then shook his head and turned back to Adam to calm him down.

I didn't know how but I was me again, whatever was in me had stopped but I could still feel it, the foreign presence within me. Was this Mara?

This was too much, so much had happened. First the ball of light, then fainting, Kaylyn acting all weird, the big house in the middle of the forest, Lucas, Fern, Mara... Adam... hands around my neck.

"I can't do this..." I whispered, Kaylyn must have heard me.

"Bon I didn't know this would happen, I'm sorry, Adam's not usually like this." 

"Kay he tried to kill me!" I snapped at her,

"I know, I'm sorry" She didn't know what to say.

I stepped away from her,

"I'm... i'm sorry... I can't do this... I have to go home." Once I said that I was running in  the opposite direction. Kaylyn called my name over and over but I ignored her. I ran and ran, I didn't stop until I was out of the woods and back on the pavement. I wiped the tears away and carried on walking.

I felt like I was in a dream. Who was Mara? Why did Adam try to kill me? Why hadn't Kaylyn told me about the house in the woods. Why couldn't I control myself? I wanted to scream and let everything out but I knew I had to get home. 

I could feel my phone buzzing in my bag. I knew Kaylyn was calling me but I ignored it. I couldn't talk to her right now.

Once I reached home I opened the door and ran upstairs to my room. My Mum didn't see me come in which is good because she most probably would have seen the huge bruise on my neck.

I flung my bag across the room in anger and flopped onto my bed, I grabbed one of my pillows and started screaming into it. I didn't want my Mum to hear me. I screamed until my lungs were burning and my throat was soar. My brain was buzzing with thoughts of what had happened. I felt helpless. None of this made any sense.

Once I had calmed down a little I went to the bathroom to splash some water on my face. I looked in the mirror to find my eyes red and bloodshot from crying. My nose was running and my cheeks were ruby red. Oh god I looked like such a mess.

What then caught my eye was my neck. My neck was red and purple as well as being slightly swollen. This alone nearly made me cry again.

I splashed water on my face to calm me down and headed back to my room. I couldn't face my parents tonight, they would be horrified and call the police.

But my stomach was rumbling and begging for food. Why was I so hungry? I decided I would sneak down stairs once my parents had gone to bed to get some food out of the fridge.

Until then, I thought, I would sleep. My body was weak and still in shock from what had happened and as soon as I got into bed I fell asleep.

Well hello there! Sooooo Bonnie has had quite a traumatic experience but she still wants food xD Tbh that would probably be me... actually... I'm quite hungry... um see ya guys I'm going to go make myself some food. xD
