Starrk pov:
"That's great to hear, Starrk. Welcome to your new family." My eyes went wide for a moment when the shinigami in front of me spoke. What she said made no sense.
She was smiling and she no longer looked tense. She had dissipated her Zanpakuto too. The way she was behaving was very suspicious. I narrowed my eyes at her as I wondered what she was planning by pretending to be suddenly friendly. She wasn't very strong; she could probably defeat Ulquiorra at his second resurrection at max. She wouldn't be able to defeat me but was she planning on using some strategy?
Deceive the enemy and catch him off guard, perhaps.
"What are you talking about?" I asked curtly.
Honestly, I didn't have time to be wasting on her jokes. I had to get back to Lilynette. I had nearly lost her once when I fought against the shinigami Kyouraku Shinsui but by some miracle, the both of us had ended up in this strange place alive and well. I didn't want to lose the only comrade I had, especially to a heartless, selfish shinigami.
"What I said wasn't something hard to understand, was it? I don't think it was...." She mumbled, pressing her lips into a thin line.
"Your words weren't difficult to understand. But what is the hidden meaning behind them?" I pressed, expecting her to stop fooling around and give me a clear answer.
She sighed, closing her eyes. I tensed when she walked towards me and stopped barely two feet away. I knew she wasn't going to attack and she knew I wasn't going to attack either because both of our reiatsus were calm and at their minimum. But it was still best for me to keep my guard up.
"I know what it's like to be isolated. To not have friends, to be shunned away because of your power and because you're different. That's how I grew up most of my life." She looked up at me, her eyes gentle and somehow warm. This was the first time anyone had looked at me like this.
Now that she was standing closer to me, I got a good look at her. She wasn't very tall. She was about the same height as the girl Aizen sama had had kidnapped to mislead Soul Society during his time of stay in Hueco Mundo. But this girl was more petite, she was a shinigami and she was more powerful.
She wasn't anything special but the way she was looking at me now gave me an odd tightness in my chest. She was truly sympathizing with us. She understood what I felt when I told her that all I wanted were comrades. That I didn't want to be alone.
"When I came here to this world, I was accepted despite my differences." She spoke again making me narrow my eyes. Her voice was no longer stern or nervous. It was....gentle.
"It feels great to be accepted and loved. It feels great to have people around you without them being afraid or angry or just....disappearing. If you really are just lonely and willing to protect friends and comrades as you said before, I know that Fairy Tail will welcome you as their comrade and as their family. If you want to give it a try, you can join Fairy Tail. You'll have comrades who will like you for you....you and Lilynette will never be alone again. Although, you will have to get used to them because they're very high spirited." She chuckled as she looked to where we could feel a bunch of rather strange reiatsus.
"I don't get why you're saying such things to me." I wasn't ready to believe that she wanted to help us.
She's a human and a shinigami. Why would she want to help an Arrancar, a hollow of all people in the world?
She merely chuckled though. "C'mon Starrk! You're the Primera, aren't you? You should be good at gauging situations and understanding simple words like this!"
