Jungkook's point of view

Every part of my body was drenched in sweat and it felt like I had been electrocuted. The inside of my mouth was desert dry - it hurt to swallow and each breath took copious amounts of effort to try and calm my fried nerves. The best thing I could compare it to was the hangover I'd had after pushing my own limits and completely blacking out. Jimin had found me in the front garden of our house, passed out in my own vomit.

There was a monstrous fear that settled in my stomach, lurching with each cruel twist of my insides. The only thing keeping me from vomiting and screaming was the echoing voices of two other figures present in the room. I didn't dare open my eyes knowing one of them was Venus and the other had to be some other god she had called on to speak to about my situation. Based on the fact she had brought back-up, I figured whatever she had tried on me was successful. Which meant one frightful thing:

I was a god... and I was being hunted.

"I told you it was him." Spoke the recognisable honey voice of Venus, though she sounded much rawer, voice bellowing throughout the room. It hurt to listen but I needed to know more.

"You shouldn't have messed with this. Now you've found him what are you going to do? If they find out about this they'll slaughter him. He is an infant in the eyes of everyone, a loose end to be tied up." Each harsh word was spoken with something I could best describe as fire. Each word spitting smokey heat that filled the room with a sweltering haze; which really didn't help my full body sweats.

"I needed to know." Venus paused for a long while. "I don't want him to hurt my son."

She thinks I would hurt him?

"Now that you've found out this information, what are you going to do? You swore you'd never interfere. Setting him off is going to attract both his parents attention. If you aren't prepared for their wrath you'll be in worse shape than he is." For a few minutes Venus didn't speak, the sound of her pacing filling the room. My curiosity was bubbling to know who the other being was; though I sensed that was a surefire way to get a godly beating.

"I'm going to help him. It's unfair for him to be alone. It's not his fault."

"Good luck. Don't expect me to help you when everything goes wrong." I could see the blinding flash even with my eyes closed. Leaving silence in the room.

"Jungkook, I know you're awake." Spoke Venus the moment we were alone. Her voice had softened back to that more human rasp of her tone, indicating a safe assurance I could open my eyes and not get smited. So I finally let myself take in the space, staring up at Venus with a weary frown.

"Yes, I am." My voice sounded worse than the other guys, knives pressed to my vocal chords that sliced with each syllable. "What did you do to me?" I asked, attempting to sit up despite everything hurting. It was futile, my whole body feeling boneless as I fell back to the couch with a groan, hating how weak everything felt.

"I put you in a nightmare, to see how you would react."

"And...? What the hell was all that about the gods wanting to slaughter me?" I mumbled into the mattress, amusing her to break into a smile.

"I was right." I rolled my eyes.

"Not helpful. Right about what?" She hummed with hesitation.

"About your father, and your immortality." My ears burned with the surreality of it all, struggling to comprehend what it meant for me to be someone who would never die of old age, someone who would outlive every one I ever loved. It sent a sickness through me that overloaded my system and this time I did throw up, lurching forward and dribbling out the contents of my stomach onto the pristine marble floor. Venus crouched down by my side, waving away the mess and smoothing my hair back with a tender touch. "I'm sorry, you'll feel sick for awhile until everything settles." I huffed, letting her fingers comb through my hair with an extra wash of healing touch I remembered from the last time she had held my life in her hands.
