KITTENS POV

Feeling the gentle touch of Sans gloved hand petting my head, smoothing back my (H/L) (H/C) hair, I took this special little moment of calm to take in his features, more so than I had before. Looking deep into the Skeletons sockets, several questions began to form in my mind. Why did he have only one eye? One glowing red eye that held the power to send shivers up and down anyone's spine, while the other was just... hollow. Empty blackness, nothing within. Could he see out of it? Have they always been this way? And if not then... what happened?

"Heh. Helloooo? Anybody home in there?" Sans called while waving his second gloved hand in front of my face, snapping me away from my thoughts. "Ya alright there, kitten? Don't tell me yer already gettin' lost in my eyes." He teased with a wink, that same grin of his plastered upon his face. Despite the light blush that was now dusting my cheeks, I just couldn't help but smile, giggling softly, sheepishly. "A-ah...? Oh! Ehehe... s-sorry, Sans. I was just thinking, that's all." I said with a reassuring nod, looking from him to Papyrus with a happy smile.

"NYEH?! AWWW SANS! THAT'S NOT FAIR!" Papyrus pouted with an adorable stomp of his boot. "GET LOST IN MY EYES NEXT! THE GREAT PAPYRUS WOULD LIKE A TURN!" He beamed down at me as I still sat in his lap, causing my blush to deepen. I opened my mouth to defend my actions, to tell him that my intentions were purely innocent, but this CinnamonBunny had other plans. Cupping my chin delicately in his large, red glove covered hand, he turned my head gently until our eyes met. "NYEEEH." He gave me a brief closed-eye smile, his own cheek bones dusted with a light orange hue. Sans chuckled from his position at our side, head propped up by his arm, fingers gripping the inside of his hollow socket. I smiled at him before looking back to his younger brother, giving him a gentle nuzzle with my cheek.

Reopening his eye sockets with slight surprise, Papyrus gently hugged me closer to his battle body, minding my leg and arm with great care, his light orange blush seemingly growing darker. "YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU DON'T EVER NEED TO WORRY HUMA-ERM...KITTEN! FOR NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU GET LOST IN MY EYES, I WILL ALWAYS FIND YOU AGAIN!" His sweet words, purity and innocence was enough to send a tingle of joy through my body, and directly into my SOUL. I was cared for... maybe even... loved?

These two Monsters who could have easily just gobbled me up for dinner to soothe their aching and empty tummies... instead have been so kind to me. Caring for me, protecting me... going against the very law that forbade such actions just to keep me alive. I barely know them, and already they've saved my life, patched up my wounds, and even given me a name of my very own. It felt like... a family.

'Family...' Again my thoughts began to wander. Did I even have a family? A home? Friends? A name? 'My name...' I began to wonder what my name was before all of this. How I came to be down here in the Underground, and in such a terrible state to boot. Who had done this to me? And why? I had so many questions, but somewhere deep down, I knew that if I stayed patient, stayed determined, everything would be revealed to me... all in due time. For now, why rush? This was now. This was here. The past could wait.

Nuzzling further into Papyrus' body, I gave a yawn of pure exhaustion, my eyelids growing heavier by the second. I could feel the pain in my leg returning, but I was just too tired to care. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Sans inject something into the tubing of my IV, and I gave him a questioning mumble, too tired to form proper words by this point. "Don't worry, Kit. It's just something t'ease the pain an' help ya sleep." He explained with a tender grin, nodding with reassurance in his glowing red eye.

'He must read minds...' I thought to myself with a grateful smile, suddenly feeling the effects of the medications take hold over my body. Hah! And I thought I was tired before. I felt a warm pressure in my chest, tingling slightly as it spread throughout my body. 'That must be the Morphine..' My eyes grew heavier and heavier, my heart rate slowing. 'And... th-that must be... the... se..dat..ive...' Finally, I could feel myself slipping away into blissful unconsciousness, peaceful, restful slumber.

But before I lost all senses completely, I could feel myself being moved, shifted gently around. With once last look of my remaining energy, the biggest/sleepiest smile spread across my face. Papyrus on the left, and Sans on the right, and I in the middle. They each had an arm draped carefully above my head, a protective stance to be sure. I felt so safe... protected. With that final image imbedded within my mind, my eyes finally closed, ready to fully embrace the warm hold of slumber.

'I think... I think I'm going to be happy here...'
