Chapter 15 Eli

Eli's POV

I think the pain increased after seeing her. Damn it, if only my body didn't react to her presence. I washed down another happy pill. God, I was taking them like M&M's, but I had to admit. It felt so nice not to feel any pain. I could almost be happy for once. The morphine would take away all my pain, I could even tolerate my cheating wife.

I came down stairs in the morning and saw my wife in the kitchen cleaning. Really, she was cleaning? Is the happy pill fucking with my mind, or did she finally pull her head out of her ass?

"Good morning, Eli." She smiled.

"Okay, what's going on?"

"What? Why would there be something going on?"

I noticed her heart beat was sounding different than normal, as if it were having a second unnatural beat. I looked at her body, she was wearing loose fitting clothes, "You're pregnant?"

"It is that obvious?" She asked, her eyes wide.

"You're pregnant with Zane's cub?" I asked, normally I would have come off the deep end, but thanks to the happy pill I can keep my cool.

She nodded her head, "Now what?"

There was a knock on the door, "Come in."

It was Jake, "Alpha, Ariel's human is demanding to see you." 

"Oh, I gotta see this."

I quickly walked out the door, and Gloria followed me. I saw Julie running up to me. The way her body moved, you think she was going in for the kill, "You, SON OF A BITCH!" She got up in my face and pimped slapped me. It was too hard to be considered a bitch slap. If I were a human, that would have hurt a lot. 

"I will never forgive you, you are the most horrible mate on the planet. How dare you reject my friend! She was nice to you, willing to accept things that the way that were, and you crushed her. She can't walk because of you!" Julie screamed, "You crushed her every reason to live, and I hope your happy because she's got another wolf eyeballing her."

"If you think that it will work between Zack and her, you're wrong."

"Oh you think I don't know that? You think that you can walk over her and walk over me, then on top of that you are going to call me stupid. Bitch, you fucking messed with the wrong girl!" Julie shouted, "I am not stupid, Eli. As soon as Zack finds his mate, he will crush Ariel too. She will be heart broken again and it's all your fault!"

Damn don't let her get to you! Don't let her take control. Play the cold heartless card. You can do it, don't let her win. Don't let her defeat you so easily. Of course this all my fault. It was my fault from the very beginning but I - I couldn't let her know that. Then everything will be ruined. Julie cannot believe that I still very much in love with my mate, and it kills me slowly every time I grow cold to my mate. Then I end up taking way too many happy pills.

Do it, Eli, play that card! "Why on earth would I care if her heart gets broken again?" A pang attacked me from everywhere. My body started to quiver. I had to sit down...no, pull it together. You have to do this, for Ariel. My body relaxed, damn I am going to need another one, "She should know better than to get attached to a male werewolf seeking his mate, why don't you warn her?"

"Oh, you think that you're so fucking smart, Eli!" Julie snorted, "You think that she's listening to me at the moment? NO! She is willing to do anything to not feel pain anymore, even hang out with Zack because he's sweet to her. If he breaks her heart, I am going to kill you! Heed my warning, Eli, I swear on my life that your blood will stain these hills. I will find Adam, and I will make sure he finds you. "
