Eli's POV

I held my mate in my arms for the first time in months, but it was worth it. I knew that from this moment on that Ariel and I will be together forever. Nothing stood in my way. Nothing keeping Ariel and I apart; not even Ariel's overprotective father.

"Eli, you're home." Ariel whispered.

I stroked her beautiful soft hair and inhaled her scent sharply. Paradise. Bliss. Heaven. Eternal happiness. There are many names for it but they all mean the same thing. Ariel was my paradise, my morphine. I knew I would never want anyone else. I would never wander or stray from her side now that I don't have to listen to anyone else. I will never let anyone tell me that I can't be with Ariel.

"Yes, I am and I am here to stay." I assured.

Her arms tightened around me. She didn't want to let me go, I knew the feeling.

Xavier came up to me, holding Ria. I stroked Ria's little head, as I had one arm around Ariel's waist.

"How is Ria doing? She is not sick, now is she?" I asked. I had the strangest feeling when I asked Xavier how she was doing, his words didn't match the tone of his voice.

"I am sorry that I kept it a secret from you, brother."Xavier murmured, "I just didn't want you to be distracted."

"So she was sick?" I asked, "Is she better?"

"Yes, she started to cry. She'll be just fine." Xavier promised.

Eli gave Xavier the look, "You should have told me, I am her father. I had a right to know what was happening to Ria."

"I'm sorry, brother. If anything like that should have happen again, I will let you know right away."

"You damn well better, I am your Alpha after all." I snarled.

Xavier nervously chuckled, "Promise."

"Well, good then, just so we're clear."

"I'll leave you two to catch up." Xavier said, "I'm sure that you don't want me in the middle of things."

"Xavier, I have missed my mate, dearly, but she is not the only person I want to see. I want to see my pack members, my brothers, and my two babies as well as Ariel." I assured.

"Well, I just thought that maybe that you two would like...I don't know...alone time." Xavier remarked.

"No, that's not happening tonight." I insisted, "I made that mistake once. I won't let something bad happen again. I will mate with her on our wedding night, it should be." Ariel opened her mouth to speak, "Darling, please don't question my motives. I would like to have this night special since this is my first night home, but I want our wedding night to be even more special." I cupped her cheek and she gazed into my eyes. She understood why tonight was not going to be the night.

I just couldn't live with myself if I were to hurt her once again. I promised her we would get married when I became clean, and if something were to stop the wedding and we mated tonight, I think it would hurt Ariel more than me, even though I would be bleeding on the inside.

"Darling, why don't you come with me to ounce my arrival?" I asked, Ariel. I could not bare to leave her side, she had to come with me. I finally had her in my arms, I could not let her go. I refused it.

"It is alright, Eli." Ariel reassured me, "I am not going anywhere. You can go to your pack members."

I never would have believed it, if I haven't heard it myself; my beautiful alpha blooded mate was stronger than she has ever been before. I knew she would make a perfect alpha's wife since the moment I met her, and now she fulfills that role even more so. I just wish I could have seen it. I wanted to see my Ariel grow into the person she now became.
