Ariel's POV
I bent over to pick up the spilled Morphine pills off the ground. My parents stared at me, worried with concern for me.
"Do you think that he'll get more?" My mother asked, whispering. Nobody wanted to ask, but someone had to - or felt the need they had to.
I sighed, "I don't want to think about it."
"But you should." My mom remarked, calmly, trying not to upset me.
I groaned, "Mom."
"I'm just saying that you want to get married but he has to get help first."
"You think that I don't know that?" I asked, raising me voice; my anger was on a very short fuse.
"Honey, your father and I are worried about you. I know I kind of pushed him back on you, but I didn't think that he was in trouble."
"First, Gloria keeps us apart, and now drugs? What's next?" I asked, "I just want to be with him, that's all I want."
"Eli needs help before you get married."
"We won't let you two get married until he is off the Morphine." My father added.
"Shouldn't it be my decision?" I asked.
"What are you saying?" My mom asked, appalled.
I snorted, "I love him. I won't let his addiction keep us apart. He was right I only took away the pills away to prove to you that I can handle him. I want us to be married, and I want to be with him."
"He needs help." My dad repeated, "He should be worrying about trying to find a way to get off it."
I made an angry pissed off look, "I am not a stupid naive child! I know he needs help, but that doesn't change the fact that I want to be with him. "
"You want to be with him even though he's put you through a living hell?" My dad asked, "I really don't see what you see in a horrible, creepy, pedophile womanizing druggie."
I throw all the pills I had picked up and threw them to the ground, I stormed off to my bedroom and slammed my door. I jogged over to my bed and threw myself onto it. I buried my face into my pillow. I heard my door open, "Sweetie, can we talk?" I turned to see my dad poking only his face inside my room.
"Why?"
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry for what? That you didn't have a say in who I date?"
"No, I am sorry for the names I called Eli."
"You only hate him because he wants to take me away."
"And I hate him even more for dragging my baby girl into a world of drug abusing."
"You can't stop me from growing up, and you can't stop us from getting married. I remarked. I am eighteen now and I can get legally married."
"Why do you want to get tied down at such a young age?" He asked.
"He's my other half. You know, two halves from the same whole."
"I don't understand how he can be your other half. In high school he was a horrible person, and you are not. You two are exact opposites."
I smiled, "He's the Yin to my Yang."
"Okay, I can see that I am not going to convince you otherwise so I am going to have to let you make your own decisions. I'll let you get married if that's what you really want -" He began.
I squealed, happily as I wildly hugged him. "I do! I do!"
"Let me finish. You have to get him help. He needs to get off the Morphine before the wedding." My dad said, "That is my only condition. He'll even get a blessing but he has to be cleaned."
