Ariel's POV

For two weeks I haven't talked to Eli but he would watch me from my window. If I didn't know it was him it would servery creep me out me out. He knew that I knew that he was out there. Every night, it was the same. I told him to go home and he would always reply 'not until you take me back.' Enough was enough, he acting like a creeper, but it was a good weird to see him devoted to me. To be honest, I didn't know what to think of it. I guess it was time to talk to my mother.

I rolled out of my bedroom and up to my mom. She was sitting on the couch reading a book, while dad was sleeping next to her.

"Mom, it's time to talk."

She looked up to me and set her book down, "Then lets talk."

I turned to face her, to make sure we were making eye contact, "You said that you know everything. I want to know what you know. "

"All I know, sweetie, is that Eli's father blacked mailed him into marrying someone else. He never wanted to hurt you. He seemed so troubled and confused. He was left with no options. I hate to see parents so mean to their children." My mom said, "He really was heartbroken. He knew he had only one day left with you and he spent that day tutoring Julie and you."

"He didn't seem heartbroken. He was mean and bitter."

"All of it was an act." She corrected, "Every mean word was a  lie. He wanted you to think he has moved on so you could. There was no other way to convince that he didn't love you anymore."

I gasped, "He was telling the truth?"

I didn't even know how to feel. All of it...it was an act. He didn't love Gloria. He didn't want me to leave when I saved him. He didn't impregnate  her. If it was all an act it would make sense after when Gloria died, he wanted me back.

"Do you think he lied to you?" I asked. It was the question that first popped into my head. I had to make sure he wasn't lying.

"Ariel, if you would have seen him that night, heard his voice, you would have believed him too." My mom said, "The pain he was having it was real. He was trying to his hardest not to break down and cry. He wanted you then and he wants you now."

I bowed my head, "How do you know that he wasn't putting on a show for you?"

"You weren't there, Ariel. I tired to explain to you that he didn't want to leave you. If you are going to be against him in everything then maybe you don't deserve him."

I choked on my breath, "I don't deserve him? What are you crazy?"

"He loves you. He loved you enough to help you move on. He didn't want you to be sad." My mom said, "Yes, he hurt you and lied to you but you two couldn't be together. He couldn't see you hurt when he was married to another girl. He had to make it seem like he loved her instead."

"It's been months."

I didn't know why I said, but it really has been months since we've been together.

"But his feelings for you never went away."

"He's a father."

"And Ria needs a mother."

"I can't be a mother!" I explained, "and I can't be with him."

"You will never be happy."

"Hey, he won't be happy either."

"Okay, Ariel, you are going to go on a date with your mate and get reacquainted. A lot has happened and you two need to kiss and make up." My mom said, "Trust me, Eli is good for you."
