Chapter 16 Ariel

Ariel's POV

I laid there on the doctor's bench, as he examined my legs...again. I knew he wasn't going to find anything wrong with them.

"You're healthy as a horse." Dr. Sllyuas said, "You should be able to walk just fine."

"But I can't."

"It's all in your head."

"No, it's not."

He sighed, "Okay, Ariel, I did some researching and I couldn't find anything. There is nowhere in my books that has your particular case. Being rejected by your mate can't do that to you physically. Yes, I understand the process of Separation is extremely tough on both parties, but it can't make you lose your ability to walk."

"But the bonding was finished."

"Finished?"

"Yes, I had sex with him." It sounded cold as it escaped my throat.

"Well, that's a completely different story."

Now I got his attention, "Dr. Cryus said that it was unheard of."

"It is."

He opened his book and quickly flipped through it. He stopped and read the page, "It causes terrible pain to be rejected after the bond was completed."

"Even for the one who did the rejecting?" I asked.

"It should." He asnwered, not even looking at me, "How much pain are you in?"

"My pain is in my heart and my legs."

"It does it hurt to apply pressure on them?"

"My bones and joints ache."

"It is possible to instead of having pain in loss to have it in your legs." Dr. Sllyuas said, "I am afraid there is no more I can do for you."

"What?"

"Ariel, the only way you are going to get to walk again is if Eli touches you."

"But that starts the bonding process over again."

"You're point?"

"He doesn't want to bond with me."

Dr. Sllyuas helped me back into the wheelchair, "Are you sure that he thinks that way?"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

"Why do you think that?"

"He rejected me for Gloria."

"Gloria?"

"Yeah."

"I think he wants you back."

"Stop giving me false hopes. It's better to accept it and move on."

"Move on? To whom? Zack?"

"Why not? He's sweet and nice to me. He's willing to do anything for me."

"If I were you, Ariel, I would stay far away from him. He will break your heart."

"No, he won't."

"Yes, he will. As soon as Zack finds his mate, he will leave you, Ariel. He will no longer be sweet and nice to you, he will be sweet and nice to his mate. You are not Zack's. You will only get hurt if you allow yourself to get close." Dr. Sllyuas warned.

"I am not going to stay away from the only person who takes away my pain." I snarled, and I rolled out of the room.

Zack came up to me, "Are you ready for lunch?"
