Chapter 3 Eli

Eli's POV

I left Ariel's apartment around six in the morning. I had to leave before she woke up. I just could not bare to leave seeing her sad face, it would crush me. I walked out of the city and made my way to the forest. My house was in the forest, surrounded by bare trees and dead leaves. Any human would think that my house being in the middle of the dead-looking forest is creepy. Hell, even I thought it was creepy, the only difference is that I know exactly what is in these woods. I walked along the path to my house. I wanted to buy myself more time, but I knew I had to get there as soon as possible. When I arrived, the entire pack was sitting on my front lawn, and my father was standing in front. I was too late.

"And where have you been?" My father asked.

"Out."

"Zane told me what you have been doing, and this pack will not stand for it any longer."

"I didn't do anything."

"Then where have you been?"

"I was with a girl."

"A human girl?"

"Yes, but I didn't hurt her."

"And the girls before that one? What happened to them?"

"Zane help-"

"I don't want to hear it, Eli."

"Zane is just pissed off, that he hasn't gotten any in a while, and now he is trying to blame it on me." I remarked, "If you let this go, I promise I will stop all of this. I am done with killing, I promise."

"Unfortunately, Eli, we can't take that chance."

"I'm your son, I am the next Alpha."

"Xavier, will be next in line for Alpha. I am disowning you from this pack and as my son." 

"I didn't kill anyone, why are you throwing me out of the pack?" I asked.

"You killed humans."

"And Zane helped. He was right there beside me."

"You tricked him, he didn't know what he was doing."

"That's bullshit and you know it!"

"What are you saying?" My father asked.

"I am saying I am done. I didn't expose the pack, and I won't. I promise. You have to believe me. This has been the only time where I have promised to follow the rules." I remarked.

My father nodded his head. It was true, this has been the only time where I said I would follow rules. He knew there was something different this time. My father pulled the three elders of the pack aside to make a decision. If I stay in the pack, and as soon as I becone Alpha, Zane will be exiled from the pack. He won't have any one to help him, and he will understand that you do not fuck with an Alpha.

My father came towards the pack and everyone had their attention on the Alpha. 

"It has been decided for the best of the pack that Eli will remain as future Alpha, but if he has one more slip up, he will be exiled as of immediately." My father spoke, "Now everyone return home."

My father came up to me, "Are we going to talk alone now?" 

"Yes, you need a talkin to."

Oh joy, this is going to be great! Not really.

I followed my father deeper into the forest.

"Son, have you really been killing humans?" 

Suddenly, I felt ashamed of myself. I was killing innocent humans to give me a thrill, to feel closer to mom. I understand now that was wrong. "Dad, let's just say that the Eli everyone knew went away for a little while, but now he has come back and he is here to stay."

"Eli, what happened to you?"

"Mom's death."

"What?"

"It started out just hunting on the rival's land. They tried to kill me, that rush made me feel closer to mom." 

"Eli, I didn't know."

We hugged, it was our first hug in over five years. I felt better knowing that my dad knew what was going on. See their problem was they kept trying to fix the problem when they had no idea what it was. They never tried to sit me down and talk to me. Now I know that my dad knows I am back and I will be Alpha.

"Son, I have a special request of you, and you have to do this to become Alpha. Once you have completed the task, I wil step down and let nature take its course."

Oh, the sooner the better!

"What is it?"

"You have to-"

I colasped onto the ground, I held my stomach. Ariel.

My mate was hurt. 

"Eli, what's wrong?"

"Dad, I have to go. We will finish later."

I morphed into a wolf. My coat was a charcoal grey. I was different from everyone. They knew it was me when they saw my coat. Everyone had light grey coats or brown. I didn't like how different I was from everyone. Even my brothers and sister didn't have my color coat. Why was I cursed with the different coat? I am a trophy for any Hunter's.

"Be careful, my son."

I raced off, I was so glad that I was faster than most werewolves. I made it to the city within minutes. I morphed back to a human and took off to Ariel's apartment. I ran up into the stairs and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw my mates blood all over the floor. My eyes widened, the blood was in a line as if someone grabbed her and dragged her into the apartment.

I carefully walked around the blood. I held my breath, my mate's blood was overpowering. I pushed opened the door.
