Romeo & Juliett: A Forbidden Love Story: Ch. 37

Juliett's POV:

I looked around some more and was surprised and happy to see Romeo laying next to me on a bed. We weren't in a hospital, so we must be at home! I was alive! But...what about Romeo? Panicking, I quickly turned him around and sighed in relief as I saw his chest moving up and down. Romeo was alive too and with me! I was so happy that I squeezed him in a tight hug, his eyes fluttered open and stared into mine.

"Oh Romeo!" I exclaimed.

Romeo smiled and wrapped his arms around me, kissing my head softly.

"Hey there lovebirds, hope you two had a good sleep!" I heard a voice say.

Looking up, I saw Riley by the doorway, smiling broadly.

"Hey Riley."

"Hey sweetie."

"What happened, dude? I don't remember a thing."

I sat up, bringing Romeo with me and waited for Riley to speak. He came into the room and sat down on my bed.

"Corey shot Romeo and then you shot yourself." he started.

Romeo laid his head down on my shoulder and wrapped his arms around me.

"Where is Corey now?" I asked.

"In jail with his other little friends." Randy added, coming into the room.

I sighed and stared at him with a sad look in my eyes.

"You know he was the one who..."

"I know."

"What's she talking about?" Riley asked.

"I'll fill ya in, while these two spend some time together."

Riley and Randy walked out of the room and I turned to face Romeo.

"I'm so sorry, Romeo," I whispered. "I've hurt you so much!"

"Hey, it was for a good cause, wasn't it?" he replied.

"So, you forgive me?"

Romeo held my head up and leaned in giving me a soft kiss on the lips.

"Does that answer your question?"

I nodded, crawling onto Romeo's lap, returning a more passionate kiss.

A Week Later:

Romeo and I were finally engaged! Well, third time's the charm, right? I was sitting in my room, gazing at the beautiful ring on my finger. Romeo soon came over to me and wrapped his arms around me.

"Hey Jules." he said.

"Romes." I replied.

Romeo kissed my cheek, sitting down behind me. I smiled and leaned my head back down on his shoulder, interlacing our fingers together.

"Juliett, I know this kinda sudden, but don't you ever miss your parents? I mean, I never see you sad over them."

My eyes opened and I turned to slowly face him.

"Romeo..." I was wondering if I should tell him or not. "Look, I promised you that I'd tell you if I were to having any problems or had any secrets, and you said you'd do the same, right?"

"Yeah."

I sighed and slowly began telling Romeo everything that I've went through in the past 16 years and counting. When I was done, Romeo stared at me, wide eyed.

"Oh. My. God!" he exclaimed. "I can't believe it!"

"Neither could I!" I replied.

"But, I remember your mom so well and she was nothing like that before!"

"Yeah, but somehow she changed."

Romeo shook his head and looked down, but then he snapped his head up and turned to look at me.

"Come with me." he said.

Romeo grabbed my hands and gave them a tight squeeze, before standing up.

"Where are we going?" I asked, curiously.

Romeo didn't answer, instead he started towing me towards his mom and dad's room. This was my first time being in here and I was surprised, their room looked great! Romeo looked go of my hand for a minute to go look for something in the drawers.

"Here, look at this."

Romeo handed me a photo and I looked at it. There was a picture of a woman. She was simply beautiful and what was weird was that she had the same blue eyes and dark black hair as I did.

"Who is this?" I asked, picking my head up to look at Romeo.

"That's your mom." Romeo stated.

"What? No, it's not."

"Yes, it is. I think I remember what your mom looks like, Juliett, but apparently you don't."

I looked at the picture again and tried to figure out what Romeo was saying. What was he saying? Was this seriously my mom?! It couldn't be! My mom was a cruel and evil woman, but this was a beautiful and young lady. How can this be?
