Romeo's POV:

Juliett has been acting weird since she got here; I knew it wasn't natural for her to be doing so - how? I don't know, but I've known her for a while now and I didn't really think she was like all the time - so that meant that there was clearly something wrong with her? Maybe she really was in shock from her parents' death. But, no, she didn't seem so. I mean, I've never even see her cry over it.

It was all too hard to understand and I knew for a fact that if I even tried to ask her about it, she'd lie and make up some excuse and that was only if she decided to even talk to me. Otherwise, she'd probably just keep quiet until I got irritated and left on my own.

Why would she tell me anyway? I've been so horrible to her; it's no wonder she hates to even look at me. I decided I was going to make up for that. I was going to become a true friend to Juliett now, I mean it was the least I could do since she was going to be living with us from now on.

I decided to go on and try to have another talk with her. This time I'd be a lot more patient and kind with her. She could take all the time she needed and wanted; I could wait. The least I could do was try.

When I returned to Juliett's room, I saw that she was lying on her bed. I figured she must've fallen asleep and went around the bed and laid down. It was then that I noticed that she was actually awake. Juliett's eyes were wide and surprised to see me. I stared back at her with deep, sorry eyes which I could tell was making her uncomfortable.

Just as I was about to open my mouth and apologize to her, Juliett rolled over onto her other side, so now her back was facing me instead. My lips were set in a line and I was determined to make this work.

Before I could talk myself out of doing this, I wrapped an arm around Juliett's waist and placed it over her thin stomach. She let out a gasp and tried to pull away from me. I flipped her around then, which caused an even louder gasp to come out through her lips, and made her look at me. She looked so cute in that frightened little way.

I pulled her in close to me so that her arms were pressed against up against my chest just like they were a while ago when I had pulled her into my lap. I knew she hadn't enjoyed that, but it was just in my nature to like that towards girls when they refused to listen to me. I wasn't someone you said 'no' to and even if it did happen once or twice, they usually came around soon enough. I guess I just wasn't used to someone not being into me - even a little!

Juliett didn't try pulling away this time, I guess she figured out that it wasn't too easy running away from Romeo Rogers. I tried not to start smirking at her again and keep an honest and composed face. Juliett sighed and her warm breath hit me in the face. Her eyes that had gone from a light green to a deep blue over the years were glinting and it was taking me my entire will power to not lean forward and kiss her. I knew that would only make things worse and that was the last thing I needed right now.

Without taking my eyes off of her, I opened and mouth and whispered, "Is it ok if I ask you a question?"

I was surprised when Juliett didn't even hesitate to answer me back, but I tried not to let it show.

"If it has nothing to do with me and/or my personal life," she told me. "then yes, you may."

I so wasn't prepared for this and it took me a while to reply back to her. For one thing, I didn't actually even have a question to ask her and for another, the longer her beautiful and piercing eyes started back into mine, the harder it was for me to concentrate.

"Ok, don't laugh," I finally came up with. "but, I was just wondering...why don't I have a girlfriend?"

"You don't have a girlfriend?" she seemed both surprised and sarcastic.
