Juliett's POV:
A few days later, I was feeling much better. Though I didn't remember much of what had happened that day or how I even got sick in the first place, but for some reason I knew it had something to do with Jay. Maybe the feeling of him leaving me forever and not even getting a proper goodbye was just too much for me and it caused my body to react in the way it did best - making me feel weak and completely vulnerable.
I heard from Mrs. Rogers that Romeo had spent those three days right by my side, making sure I got better as soon as possible. I wondered if that was really true and figured that he probably didn't volunteer to do it and was instead forced by his mom. That seemed like a better explanation than the one Mrs. Rogers gave me and it made sense too.
There was no way that Romeo would ever want to do anything nice for anyone unless he got something in benefit. But, I was turned out to be wrong, because it turns out he really did take care of me all those days and that too without any reason but the fact that he wanted to.
I found that out three days later. I was called downstairs that afternoon and since I was feeling so much better than before, I literally skipped down the stairs and into the living room where Mr. and Mrs. Rogers stood.
They were engaged in a conversation, but as soon as they saw me, they immediately stopped talking and cracked a pair of fake smiles my way. I smiled back and came to a stop in front of them.
"So, what was it you wanted to talk to me about?" I asked, looking between the two of them.
"You'll know as soon as Romeo gets down here too." Mrs. Rogers told me promptly.
As soon as his name was mention, Romeo came trotting the stairs. As soon as he saw all of us standing together, he raised an eyebrow and slowed to a walk.
"Hey, mom, dad, what's up?" he wanted to know. "I was right in the middle of the big game."
"This is far more important than a silly old game." his dad told him sternly.
Romeo nodded and flicked his eyes my way. I shrugged, letting him know I knew nothing of what was going on.
"Well, what is more important?" Romeo turned back towards his parents.
"Well for the past few days, your father and I have noticed that you and Juliett get along very well." Mrs. Rogers started off.
I had to hold back a snort, because it would just sound inappropriate, but I just couldn't believe what I was hearing. Romeo and I, getting together well? What bullshit!
"And?" Romeo prodded.
"And your mother and I think it would be a great idea for the two of you to get married and live here together forever." Mr. Rogers finished up.
As soon as I heard the word 'marriage', I freaked out.
"Married?" I shouted out. "What year is this? It's the twenty first century, for God's sake! Nowadays, I really don't think there are anymore arranged marriages going on!"
"Dear, at least let us finish first." Mrs. Rogers tried to calm me down. She stretched her arm out to put on my shoulder, but then hesitated and must've thought better of it, because she dropped it.
I swiveled my head over at Romeo. Surprisingly, he wasn't saying anything! He just stood silent, staring at the ground.
"We think that you two should at least get engaged and then in the future get married at a more reasonable age," Mr. Rogers explained. "But, if it at that point, you two have someone in mind that you'd rather get married to, then that's ok. For now though, I think it's the best for you two." And then with a sad look on his face Mr. Rogers added, "I'm sure your parents would've wanted the same thing."
