Juliett's POV:

I've noticed more than once that Romeo's been acting pretty weird lately and I wondered why, but it wasn't exactly like I could just ask him; there was no way he'd ever tell me. Sometimes he acted like he hated me and avoided me at all costs and other days he was so close to me like he was trying to overcome my own shadow.

And Riley, well he was always near me, always over hovering over me like a protective brother. While Randy, he was always so busy being cooped up in his room. He hardly ever came out of there unless it was to go to school in the morning and he always did that really early in the morning before any of us even woke.

He didn't come down to watch TV or use the bathroom or even eat. I wondered just how he even survived in that room like that. If it had been me in there, I probably would've died off long ago.

It had been a week since I came to the Roger Mansion and so far, it's been pretty boring. I figured living with rich dudes and being pampered was going to be fun, but to me it's just...not. For some weird reason, I missed being away in my old town with my old friends and life. I missed working to make a living, I missed going to my old beaten up school, but most importantly I think I actually missed living with my parents again.

Sure, they were horrible people that deserved to die a long time ago and it wasn't exactly their presence that I missed, it was the fact that their beatings made me stronger, braver and who I am today. I miss that, the old Juliett and I hated the new one. I loved the old bad girl me and loathed the one that everyone thought was all sweet and angelic and could do no harm.

God, besides these double initials rich boys, I had no other friends. Not that I had many back in my old life, but at least then I had someone I knew. Jay. God, I wish he was here with me. I wished everyday all day and all night for him to call me just like he promised or to even answer back my messages and emails, but always came up with nothing. Until one day, that changed it all for me.

I was lying on my bed, bored as hell, just staring up at my ceiling, when my phone rang from beside me. I answered it without even checking the number and was greeted by a familiar sounding voice.

"Hey, JuJu."

It didn't take me long to figure out who it was, since there was only one person in the world that called me.

"Jay!" I bolted right up and pressed my phone closer to my ear. "Hey, where have you been? You promised you'd call me!"

"Hey, I'm sorry, a lot's happened since you've been gone. But, first things first, I got a new number, so make sure you save this one instead."

I mentally added that for my list of things to do.

"God, I'm so stupid; can you believe I actually started thinking the worst?"

Jay laughed. "Hey, I'm sorry."

"Apology accepted." I grinned.

"So, hey, I got a surprise for you."

"What is it?" Immediately filled with curiosity.

"Close your eyes first." Jay instructed.

"O...kay." I said in dismay.

"Don't worry, just trust me," it felt as if Jay's voice was somehow getting louder, but I shrugged it off and focused on what this surprise was that he had for me. "Now open."

I did as he said and found Jay standing directly in front of me. My heart swelled up, but I stomped back the feeling as soon as it came. This couldn't be happening, Jay seriously couldn't be here right now.
