Zootopia~Our Last Case

Chapter 4

I ran with Judy in my arms till I found the way we came in. Once inside I set her down and picked up a duffle bag I left behind a pile of garbage, "Carrots we gotta get out of her and tell Bogo." I said.

"Nick, they're dead! Winters Livvy Zoey and Orion all dead! And because of us," Judy said crouching down with her head in her paws.

"Judy, they may not be dead and if they are then we have to avenge their deaths, so come on. Let's get back to the ZPD and report to Bogo," I said holding out my paw for her.

She wiped her eyes before grabbing my paw, "Let's go."

We walked back through the swears till we found our way out. It was dark when we got to our police cruiser, which was still parked where we left it.

"Judy, do you need me to drive," I asked seeing her shaking.

"Y-yeah, go ahead," she murmured before getting in the passenger's seat.

I climbed into the driver's seat and started the car. I turned on the sirens, so we could get back to the ZPD in a hurry, before driving off.

~At ZPD~

I parked the cruiser and ran inside with Judy right on behind me. We ran past Clawhauser who was eating another doughnut. We ran into Bogo's office to find him reading a book. He dropped the book and looked at us angrily. "This better be important Hopps and Wilde."

"Sir, we, uh, got in a firefight in the underground city. An unknown amount of casualties and a bar burned down, and I don't know how to put this sir, but we were attacked by reptiles," Judy said trying to catch her breath.

Bogo stared at us astonished for a moment before regaining his composer, "Why were you guys in a firefight and why were there reptiles there," Bogo asked.

"We didn't start it, sir. We were asking around about the new drug and a bunch of animals came busting in armed with all kinds of guns. Then some leopard named David ordered his men them to shoot us," I said.

"But we made them retreat after a quick exchange of gunfire. That's when the reptiles came in. It was a croc and a snake, both well trained and well armed. They killed our informants and I believe burned down the bar to cover up their tracks," Judy added.

Bogo rubbed his eyes and sighed loudly, "David, the leopard you encountered, is a well-known hit-man, smuggler, robber, and terrorist. He is one of the most wanted mammals out there. And for the croc and snake, they are his top operators, Gareth is the croc and the snake is Lance. And to be honest I am surprised you two made it out alive. Gareth and Lance aren't known to let anyone get away."

"Cheif we probably would be dead if it wasn't for the bar staff. The helped fight of David's men but when Gareth and Lance came they couldn't handle them. While the staff was distracting them we ran out the back," I said.

"I'll send in a SWAT team to check out the area. In the mean time take the next couple of days off. You both earned it," Bogo said shuffling some papers.

"But chief the case, don't you still want us to look into it," Judy asked.

"I still do, but I want you both refreshed. You both look pretty shaken up, so like I said take the next couple days off," Bogo said.

"Thank you chief we will take the time to recover. And once we are will come back ready to take down the people who did this to Winters bar," I said before Judy could protest anymore.

"Wait you mean the bar that burned down was Chris Winters bar," Bogo asked leaning forward in his chair.

"Uh, yeah. Do you know the guy," I asked wearily?

"He was an undercover agent sent in by the ZIA. He was supposed to get information on a new player in the drug business." Bogo said.

"Cheif, you might want to contact the ZIA and tell them that Winters is dead," I said cringing as Bogo slammed his fists on the table.

"Dead! What do you mean he's dead!" Bogo yelled.

"I saw the Lance, the snake, stab Winters in the chest with his sword," I said trying to regain my composer.

Bogo breathed deeply, "Did he tell you anything before he died?"

"Yes actually, he said that the new player is some ox named Felix," I said.

"I'll inform the ZIA, now go take some time off," Bogo said standing up.

Judy and I walked out of Bogo's office and headed for towards our own houses. Before I was able to turn a corner to head home Judy ran up to me and pulled my shirt, "Nick, can you, uh, can you walk me home? I don't want to be alone," she said looking down trying to hide a blush.

"Sure Carrots, you did promise me a movie so about we watch one at your place," I asked turning around to the bunny.

"Sounds great, your the best," she said hugging me.

"It's me, Winters is dead and they know about Felix, yes I know they can ruin everything. Yes, I already gave them time off. What do you want me to do with them once they get back? Yes I understand, I'll let you take care of them.

So! What do you guys think? Already in the fourth chapter and stuff is going down! Who was that on the phone? What's gonna happen to Nick and Judy? And who's ready for movie night?
