Zootopia~Our Last Case

Chapter 23

POV~Judy

"Nick? Nick, wake up," I shout at Nick slapping him in the face.

He doesn't respond, I put my paw to his neck and look for a pulse. My heart stops for a moment before I feel his pulse. He's alive, he just blacked out. I relax and sit back in my chair. 

I look over to Winters and Livvy and see them firing away out the right side of the helicopter. I look over at Alice, who is standing up with the pilots, and ask her,"Alice, where are we heading?"

She turns back to me and says, "We are heading for the heart of Zootopia. There we will infiltrate town hall and take out the people responsible."

 "Alice we've already tried that. The leaders weren't there. The only person we found was Jack's brother. Who tried to kill us."

"Yes, I know you guys already did but you didn't clear the whole place. The town hall has a whole hidden level. It's a secret level underground. It was built to shelter the mayor and his staff in the event of a global war, but now it is a  secret lair."

"How do we break into it then? Is there a secret passage or something?" I ask Alice.

"Actually no. There is an elevator that goes straight down to it. We just need a certain key that gives us access to it."

"Where can we get one of these key?"

"Nowhere. We are just gonna have to hack into it. Luckily I am a good hacker."

"That's good, how much longer till we reach town hall."

Alice turned back to the pilots, "What's our eta on town hall?"

"We are about five minutes out," the pilot says.

"Five minutes Judy," Alice says turning back to me.

"Thanks, Alice," I say turning to Winter and Livvy who were now sitting in the seats.

"So, Winter, Livvy, what did you guys do before all this," I ask them.

"Well we ran our bar, and did some other selling on the side," Winters says.

"Like what type of selling," I ask interested. 

"Well, uh, mostly drugs, guns, and mammals sometimes," Winters says scratching behind his ear.

"What? You sold mammals? Why?"

"Calm down Judy, we only did it once and we didn't even know that we were selling mammals till a few days later. We were just the middlemen for the operation. We were only told certain information."

"Still! How could you guys do such a thing?"

"Judy, it's not like we wanted to sell the mammals. We tried finding where they went to free them but we never found them," Livvy said.

"Yeah, whatever. Did you guys do anything good before Nick and I came along?"

"No, we lived in the underground city. Nobody is good down there. You have to be bad to survive down there," Winters says.

"We did horrible things down there, but we were nowhere near close to being the worst. That was David. He was the worst person to every live. He strung up some of his victims around his territory just to make sure people know they are in his territory," Livvy says.

"Geez, he sounds bad. But did he sell other mammals," I say not forgetting what they did?

"Yes, he was the main mammal trafficker down there. He sold every type of mammal. From the smallest bunny to the largest elephant. He had total control over everything down there. I guess being ex-military and a feared hitman helps, Winters says.

"Wow, I am sorry for judging  you guys then. I didn't know there could be mammals who could do such a thing."

"Well, Judy, when it comes to life or death most mammals would do anything to live. Even if that means selling another mammal," Livvy says adjusting herself.

"Yeah, I guess so. Hey! Alice how much longer till we get to the town hall?"

"We are already there. We are about to land," Alice says sitting down.

"Incoming missile! Everybody hold on," the pilot yells swinging the helicopter to the left dodging a missile.

"Another missile is locking on! I can't dodge, everybody get ready for impact," the pilot yells as the missile hits the nose of the helicopter.

The cockpit of the helicopter explodes in fire. The helicopter starts spinning towards the ground. I look over to Jack and see him cover Jason with his body. I look over to Winters and Livvy and see them holding paws. I turn to Nick to see him open his eyes, great best time for you to wake up.

I hold out my paw to Nick, he looks at it in confusion for a second before grabbing it, "Nick, I love y-" I say as the helicopter hits the ground.
