Zootopia~Our Last Case

Chapter 24

POV~Nick

The last thing I saw before fire engulfed me was Judy holding out her paw. I had reached for it and heard her begin to say something. But the helicopter crash stopped her mid sentence.

I am floating on a cloud, with thousands of other clouds around me acting like walls. I see a bright light in the distance, it's calling to me. A figure appears in front of me, stopping me from going towards the light. The figure turns to me and I gasp as I see who the figure is, my grandfather.

"Grandad? What are you doing here?" I ask looking at him confused.

"I am here to keep you from dying. If you go towards that light you will die. And a certain bunny won't be too happy with you if you did so."

"Dead? I am I dead?" I ask worriedly.

"No, don't worry you're fine. Well, unless you go into the light. You must wake up Nick. Judy and all of Zootopia needs you. So wake up and show everybody you are more than a sly fox," he says.

"But grandad, how can I defeat the evil? They are so much stronger than me and my friends. We can't stop them, they're too powerful!"

"Nicky, you can defeat them. You just need to remember what and who you are fighting for. Those people are only fighting for money and power, you are fighting for survival, Zootopia, and most importantly for Judy. So Nick wake up and show them who you really are," my grandad says laying his paw on my head. "Wake up Nick, they need you."

I wake to hot flames licking my legs. I look around to see that I am still the helicopter. I notice Judy laying in her seat, unconscious. I unbuckle myself and go to her side. I unbuckle her and carry her out of the burning helicopter. I set her down away from the helicopter and head back inside to get the others.

I find Jack's body and check his pulse to see he is still alive. I pick him up and see Jason underneath him. I pick him up too and carry them over to where I laid Judy. I drop them there and run back into the helicopter to get Winters, Livvy, and Alice.

I find Winters and Livvy in their seats, holding each other's paws. I smirk before unbuckling both of them and carry one of them at a time out. Once I dropped Winters with the others I did a final run into the helicopter to get Alice.

As I step into the helicopter I see Alice lying against the far side of the helicopter. I go to her and drag her by her paws out  of the helicopter. The second I got to everybody else the whole helicopter erupted in fire.

I drop Alice and collapse to the ground. Dam, just in time,  I say to myself resting my head on the ground.

I look up at the night sky and see search lights dancing across the sky. My gaze fell on Judy and the others. "I will end this, don't you worry," I say standing up and grabbing Winters gun.

I sling it over my back before leaving behind a radio, with a note attached to it.

"I am sorry Judy, but I will not let you die. I will die for you instead," I say walking towards the town hall.

"It's time to end this," I say kicking the doors of the town hall in.
