Zootopia~Our Last Case

Chapter 18

POV~Judy

I awake with a killer headache. I put my paw up to my head and see blood covering it. I slowly sit up, wincing in pain. I look around and see lots of trees and snow, but no sign of Nick, the others, or any of the jeeps.

I got up, bracing myself on a tree before starting to walk up an incline. I got to the top and saw a road and off in the distance were the smallest of lights, but still lights. I dragged myself down the street hoping to make it to the lights before anything else happens.

I am still about two miles or so away when I heard the sound of a helicopter. I hurriedly drag myself off the road, hoping they didn't see me. The helicopter passed by me, luckily.

I gave it a few minutes before continuing on. I am still nowhere near the lights when I hear voices and the sound radios squawking.

I try to move off of the road, but a squad of uniformed mammals sees me before I could hide. I reach for where my gun is holstered to find that it wasn't there, it must've fallen out of my holster when the jeep tipped.

I turn to run away from them but then I hear one of them shout my name. I turn and see a smaller mammal running up to me. I couldn't see his face since he had a gas mask on, but I could tell by his red tail and how he walked who it was, Nick, my Nick.

"Nick!" I scream running to him.

"Judy! Oh, what happened? I was scared I lost you," Nick said embracing me into a hug.

"Don't worry Nick you'll never lose me. And Nick, what's up with the gas mask," I say snuggling into his body armor.

"I won't go anywhere either. And the mask was because some chemical weapon was dropped in the forest we crash in."

"Well that doesn't matter right now, what matters is that I am with you," I say cheerful looking up at Nick.

"Hey, lovebirds, we should get moving. Bellwether's goons will be showing up soon," a tiger yells at us.

"Just one more second Sanders," Nick yells back at the tiger.

"Nick, where are the others," I ask looking at him.

"Don't worry we found them, well all but Winters. But knowing him he'll be around somewhere. Now let's get going, the others are waiting for us," Nick says taking my hand and leading me back to the squad of mammals.

We begin walking back the way I came, and after I while my legs begin to give out on me. So Nick picks me up and carries me on his back for the rest of the way. I almost fall asleep on his back, but I was shaken awake but Nick handing me a gas mask to put on.

I grumbling put on the mask before trying to doze off again. We got to the helicopter before I could sleep again so I slide off of Nick's back and walk towards the helicopter.

Sanders helps me and Nick into the helicopter before turning back to his men and checking his radio. All of sudden the sound of gunfire can be heard off in the distance. Sanders turns to the helicopter and slides the doors shut.

He pulls out his assault rifle and started firing into the woods at the oncoming mammals.

I ran up to the pilots of the helicopter and yell, "We can't leave them they won't make it."

"Sorry rabbit, but they knew the risks of this mission. Our job is now to get all of you to safety. They are second priority," the pilot says sadly to me.

I hang my head and walk back to the center seats. I see Nick trying to open one of the doors but it was locked. I put my paw on his shoulder, "Nick, there's nothing we can do," I say sadly to him.

"But Judy, he helped reunite us. I can't just let him die. I-I, I just don't want anyone else dying for me," he says looking at me with a tear in his eye.

I hug him, petting his back, "Don't worry, Sanders seems like a very capable soldier. He'll probably be fine," I say trying to reinsure him.

"Yeah, he might survive. He seems like a tough tiger," Nick says turning back to the window, seeing Sander's squad in a circle shooting into the trees.

"Everything will be fine, I promise you that."

Hey, guys! Happy day after Halloween! I was planning on updating yesterday but instead, I went out with a few of my friends so sorry about that. But to make up for it I am going to be updating again tomorrow! See look out for that! And where do you guys think Winters is?
