Carls P.o.v.

"Carl.." I hear, but I don't open my eyes at all. "Carl, Hailey is missing."
My eyes shoot open as my hands go searching for the said missing girl who was last seen laying on my chest. I stand up quickly and look at Rachael. "What do you mean she is missing?" I ask. "How did she get up without me feeling her? She was laying on my chest." Rachael shrugs at my frantic questions. I look around the Church and notices the hot Georgia sun beating in, it's already morning. The Church also seems a lot empty. "Where is my dad? The rest of the group?" I ask. "They went to go get Beth, been gone about an hour now."
"How long as Hailey been missing?"
"About...I don't know thirty minutes. I don't exactly have a watch Carl. Remember the world ended a long time ago." She laughs.
Father Gabriel is at the alter kneeling and Judith is asleep in her basket, being watched by Randall. "There is no way my dad left us under his watch, he can barely kill a walker let alone a person."
"Michonne is outside, when your dad left he didn't want to wake you and Hailey."

I walk out of the Church and see Michonne sitting on the steps, taking watch. "Hailey is missing?" I ask. She stands up and turns around to look at me, I didn't close the doors behind me so now Gabriel and Randall can hear everything. "How did she get passed me?" She asks. "I need to go find her. I'll be back." I tell her as I walk down the steps. "You can't just go by yourself." She says.
"I am capable."
"I don't care."
I stop walking and go to say something, but get interrupted. "I'll go with him."
I turn around and see Randall standing on the steps with his gun in his hand. "No, your arm." I say. He walks down the stairs and stops at the last one.
"I can do it, I need the practice. Get used to only having one arm." He says walking towards me
"You sure you're ready?" I ask. Randall smiles, "I don't know lets find out." He says walking passed me and starts making his way into the woods. I look back at Michonne and she's smiling, shaking her head.
"Damn Carl, you're slow." I hear Randall call out. I smile and catch up to him. Even though I am stressed out it's good to have a laugh now and then. Now, it's time to be serious though. Where could she have went?

Hailey's P.o.v.

My eyes flutter open and I do have to admit my face hurts, but so does every part of my body. I get off of Carl and sit next to his sleeping body. I tell him I don't need him, but I want him in every way possible. I just need to keep my distance, not just from him but everyone. In a world filled with death at every twist and turn you can't afford to get close to anyone, I learned that the hard way. I sigh as I stand up making my way outside to get fresh air, it is now morning. Michonne is sitting on the steps looking out into the woods. "Where is everyone else?" I ask. She turns her head to look at me. "They left to get Beth about 20 minutes ago, I'm in charge. You need anything?" She asks. It's obvious everyone is treating me like I am going to off my self, which I wouldn't do. Would I?

"Hailey!" I hear my name being called in a familiar voice, but I couldn't make out who. I looked around, but no one was outside besides Michonne and I. I brush it off and walk back into the Church. "Hey Hailey, you want something to eat?" Rachael asks me. I shake my head no and sit on the pue closest to the alter.

 "Hailey help!"

I look around yet no one called my name, no one is even paying attention to me. Maybe I just need to go back outside, away from everyone. I grab my knife from my boot and walk out the back way. I sit on the ground, carving little things into the dirt. I look from the dirt and to my arm, thinking about what I almost did the other day.

What's the harm? I am already half way dead if not even already there on the inside, why not make it visible? I zone out from drawing and the bring the tip of my knife to my arm, but before I could make a mark my name is called again. I quickly stand up looking side to side and holding my knife up in defense.

"Hailey over here! In the woods."

I look straight ahead of me and see him right there flesh and blood.

"J-James?" I question with tears already threatening to escape. "Come on Hailey." He says. His voice is the same but has some what of an echo. This can't be real. I watched him die. "Come on." He stresses. I look around before following my dead brother into the woods. He starts laughing and running each time I take a step closer. Once I am finally deep into the woods his voice and laughter become louder.

"Why did you let them kill me Hailey?"

"You were supposed to protect me, you promised mom."

Stop. Stop. Stop.

"I did keep you safe James.. I-I tried. I wanted to." I say.

"You broke that promise to mom. She is mad. You better run."

At first I was confused, but as soon as his voice went away the sound of about twenty walkers approaching me filled the air.

"Fuck." I whisper. Their teeth come chomping at me so I ran, like the voice said to. I kept running until I tripped over a rock and fell into a ditch, hitting my head on another rock as I collided with the dirt. That voice came back again, but this time it wasn't just James talking to me. It was Hershel, my father, my mother, the bitch who killed my brother, and James. They were telling me to do what I trying to do.

"Do it, Hailey boo."

"Do it!"

The voices were loud and the echoes pierced my ear drums. Tears were pouring out of my eyes. My head was throbbing and so was my arm, which I didn't know the cause of until I looked at my now blooding knife laying in the dirt. The pain in my head increases and suddenly everything turns black.

Carl's P.o.v.

"Do you think Beth will come back okay?" Randall asks. "Or do you think she is dead?"
"I think she is alive, but that's just hope talking. We have to have that now a days."

Randall was about to say something but stopped. "Is that Hailey?" He asks pointing to a ditch. Oh shit. We run up to the ditch and when I look in it I almost had a fit. Her head is bleeding and there is a cut on her right arm by her wrist. What the actual hell.

"C'mon Randall. We have to get her back to the Church."

She looks pretty beat up and I am really worried. I have a million questions running through my head, but my main objective is to get her back. I pick her up and Randall helps me get her up and out of the ditch. She's still knocked out so I pick her up bridal style and we make our way back to the Church.

"I got you now baby." I whisper.
