|Hailey's P.o.v.|

Do I believe this place could be safe? Yes. Do I trust this place? No. The last time the group thought a place was safe I lost my little brother. I'm not taking any chances. It's hard because I believe Aaron is a good guy but that doesn't mean every one behind these walls follow in those footsteps. The gates start to open so I grab Carls hand, usually he squeezes my hand but this time he doesn't. I look at him and he's staring at a beaten down house across from us. His lips part lightly as if he's confused about something. I wonder what he's looking at because I don't see anything. I tug his arm gently getting his attention.

"Are you okay?" I ask him. He clears his throat and nods. I look at him confused but he just acts like nothing happened. It's all quiet until a garbage bin is knocked over and causes a loud clatter. I let go of Carl's hand and pull out my gun. Luckily it was just a possum and Daryl caught it. I put my gun away as the gate opens all the way revealing another person. He looked scared, I guess he should be.

"We brought dinner." Daryl tells the guy who can't stop staring at us. The guy looks at Daryl confused and then at Aaron.

"Come on in guys." He tells us. We all slowly walk in one by one. Some of us had our guns down low but were ready to pull the trigger if needed. Abraham was the last one in before they shut the gates. It was an interesting set up. They had a regular gate and then a cover up for it. Smart.

I watched as the gate shut, it's been awhile since I was closed off from the outside world. I wonder how long these people have lived like this. Carl and I stayed close to the gate just incase.

"Before we take this any further I need you all to turn in your weapons." The guy who opened the gate informs us.

"No way." I fire. "I'm not turning in anything, not until I know I'm not going to have a gun held to my head by one of your people."

Carl looks at me shocked and I just shrugged. "It's true." I whisper to him.

"What she meant to say was we just got here and you want us to turn in our weapons already?" Rick rephrases what I said in a much nicer way.

"If you stay, you hand them over." The man says but with a bit more aggression. This guy literally looked as if he was going to shit his pants when he first saw us and now he seemed to have grown a pair once we stepped into the place. I already don't like him.

"We don't know if we want to stay." Rick says stepping closer to him in defense. The whole group was on edge including me. The man starts getting agitated. All I have to say is, watch yourself.

"It's fine, Nicholas." Aaron calms him down.

The bitch has a name...

"If we were going to use them, we would've started." Rick tells Nicholas. He looks at Aaron shocked but Aaron seems to just want to keep everything cool.

"Just let them talk to Deanna first." He says.

"Who's Deanna?" Abraham shouts. I don't think he intended to shout that.

"She knows everything you'd wanna know about this place." Aaron says to us before looking around. I notice a girl maybe my age looking at us as she slowly makes her way to a house.

"Hey." He shouts. The girl runs to Aaron and takes her sight off of us.

"Can you go tell your mom I'll be sending new arrivals in?" He asks. I guess she's Deannas daughter. I remember what happened when a new girl was introduced, Carl went after her and suddenly I feared it would happen again. I look at Carl and he wasn't watching her at all. He was too focused on looking at his surroundings. I smile at him but he doesn't notice. I look back at Aaron and the girl is gone.
