|Hailey's P.o.v.|
"How'd it go?" Carl immediately asks as I walk out of Deannas house.
"It was fine." I tell him. I have a lot on my mind and I didn't really feel like talking that much. I ignore Carl's gesture to take his hand and sat down on the steps. I place my elbows on my thighs and lay by chin in my hands. He sits down next to me and places his hand on my thigh causing butterflies to erupt, the same old feeling.
"Hey." He says to get my attention. I direct my gaze to him.
"Deanna told me this is a place to start a new beginning." I say. "But what if some of us are already too far gone?"
Carl shakes his head, "I don't believe I am and I don't believe you are."
I could be.
"We aren't too far gone. We're strong." He tells me. I nod even though I don't agree, I think I am too far gone to be in a place like this.

"Hey, Rick right?" Ally, the girl I met in Deannas house asks as she walks down the steps. It's been a few hours and all of us have spoken to Deanna.
"My mom, she's made her decision, you're part of Alexandria now." She says smiling. She looks at Carl and I and I can see her blush. Is she interested?
"Do we still need to turn in our weapons?" I ask rather harshly. Ally looks taken back and clears her throat before speaking.
"That's part of it all." She smiles. It was fake. Her smile in the house was real, but this one was fake. She's starting not to like me. All well.
"Follow me."
The whole group follows Ally and we end up at some sort of storage place. There, was a lady with a bin waiting for us.
"This is Olivia." Ally introduces the woman. Olivia smiles and waves.
"Olivia keeps check of all the food storage and of the weapons in Alexandria."
One by one the group places their weapons in the bin. Carol was oddly smiling and acting as if she was innocent. I looked at her weirdly as she made her way next to me. Her smile faded, it was just an act. I look at Carl who is on the other side of me and sigh.
I was the last one and I didn't even want to put my pistol in. I remembered that I have a knife tucked away under my shirt so I just laid my gun in the bin calmly and walked back to Carl. Olivia gave me a smile before rolling the bin back into storage.
"Now follow Aaron and I to your houses." Ally motions for Aaron to take lead. Aaron and Ally lead us to two rather large houses at the end of the curb.
"If I had to choose, I would choose the one on the right." He says. "It has more curb appeal."
We get both of those?
"Both of these are ours?" Rick asks as if he was reading my mind. Aaron nods and walks away but Ally didn't, she stayed. We walk into the house cautiously causing Ally to look at us weird.
"I promise nothing's in here but the essentials." I could tell she seemed offended.
"We're just taking safety precautions." Carl says stopping in his tracks and standing by the door frame. Rick already went in but I decided to stay by Carl.
"I don't know why." She laughs a bit. Now I'm taking offensive.
"Have you ever been outside those walls?" I ask.
She shakes her head, "W-Well not exactly-"
"Then you really wouldn't know why." I cut her off. Carl grabs my arm gently and whispers, "Enough."
"I'm sorry, I didn't meant to offend you." She says. I nod calming down and fake a smile, "thank you." I say
Ally walks off and I roll my eyes. Carl gently yanks me in the house and grabs me by the waist.
"You need to calm down." He tells me. He's right, I guess I should be nice. We explore the house and meet up with Rick in the kitchen. I decided to turn on the faucet and to my surprise water poured out.
"Showers mine." Rick laughs before walking towards the stairs. I walk into the living room and take a seat on the sofa. My body relaxes and I swear this is like Heaven. Carl sits next to me and smirks.
"I was thinking that we could get into a shower after my dad."
A shower together? I smile as I remember the time we first showered together in the prison.
"Together?" I ask. He smiles and nods.
"Like at the prison." He says. I laugh and nod, "Okay, we can."
Carl leans in and kisses my lips softly. I feel like he wants more from me but I don't know if I'm ready. I haven't really thought about doing it, I've been too busy losing my mind. He pulls away leaving my lips feeling naked. I love the way his lips covered mine.
"What do you think is the deal with Ally?"
Carl looks at me and laughs,"What do you mean? These people have nothing wrong with them. It's just their innocence that's a problem."
I look at him and squint a bit. "Maybe us being here is more of a blessing for them then it is us." I get up out and gesture to the room we're sitting in.
"I mean look." I laugh. "These people wouldn't know how to defend themselves if it hit them across the head! They're princesses and people like us..." I take a deep breathe.
"We're the evil step mothers."
Carl chuckles and stands up also. "I look at it like we're all benefiting from each other." He grabs me by the waist and pulls me close to him. He levels his lips to my ear.
"We teach them how to survive and they teach us how to feel like we're actually living again. We're safe here." He whispers sending chills down my spine.
His lips leave my ear and find them selves on my neck. He leaves short but sweet kisses. His hands travel down to my butt and he gives a gentle squeeze. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this. Carl spins us around and backs me up to the couch we were once sitting on. I want to continue but I feel like now isn't the time. I place my hand on his chest, stopping him.
"Not n-now." I say sorta out of breath. What can I say? He took my breath away.
"Just some innocent stuff. Please." He whines pressing his crotch against mine. I smile at the reaction this was causing him.
"Having a problem?" I ask. He nods and sighs.
"Sorry buddy." I kiss Carl on the cheek and make my way up the stairs to explore the rooms, my smile never leaving my face.
I doubt this place but Carl makes it easier to have hope and believe we could have a future here but Alexandria, you have no idea who you just let in.
