"Hi," I deadly said to Michael's company.

She looked to be extremely comfortable in her tied up tee and ripped up sweat pants, lounging on his bed with her head melted into his pillow. My heart was pounding with...jealously? I just didn't like the sight of it.

Maylani nodded. "What's up?" She was smirking. Then she sat up on her knees and looked at Michael. "I'm just as confused as you are."

Then we were both looking at him.

Michael, smiling like a child up to no good, stepped behind me to close the door. "Well," he said, standing beside me. "I figured since we're all here in this lovely city, we should get together and discuss what happened back at the mansion."

"Looks like someone got invited a day earlier than me." I noticed Maylani's bed head. Not one hair on her pretty head was in place.

"Maylani's shooting a movie here," Michael excused.

Maylani scooted herself off of the bed and planted her socked feet on the floor. "I'm gonna head back to my room."

"No, you're not," Michael said stopping her with a pointing finger.

"Michael, I'm not entertaining this."

The air was growing humid by the second. I had to strip my jean jacket. "So what are you trying to tell me?" I tossed my coat, letting it land on his dresser. "You two are screwing each other?"

Maylani laughed with Michael. Hers was more of humor, Michael seemed embarrassed.

"Kat, would you not do that?" Michael asked.

"Wow," Maylani said. "First Prince now I'm screwing Michael, too? Why is everything so sexual with you? Did you come here to sleep with Michael?"

"Maylani," he urged.

"Because apparently, a male and female can't just hang out in a room together without intimacy involved."

"Don't question me," I said with narrowing eyes. And I found that my fingers mindlessly made their way around the handle of a cold pitcher filled with water.

"Thirsty?" Maylani asked. But I could see in her eyes she was challenging me.

I let go of the handle and stepped away from the small table. It took more out of me than I thought it should.

"Listen, I got the contract."

Michael's glances danced between us two girls.

"What contract?"

"The office faxed it over to me. To be the 'face of KAT Cosmetics.' Thank you, but no thank you."

"Maylani?" Michael interrupted. His tone showed disagreement.

"No. I have my reasons." She marched across the room and found her sneakers in the corner.

"That's fine," I said with my eyes following her back. "I never green lighted them to send that to you anyway."

As she stomped her feet into her tennis shoes, I cutely strolled to Michael's bed and took a seat.

"Michael," she said, turning to him. "I told you I'm not going to tell anyone."

Michael met her halfway for a kiss on the cheek.

"Wait," I said. I wasn't done with her. "I'm sorry about what Prince did."
