Chapter 20

When I wake up I'm still in the hospital but Jack is sitting beside me passed out. I reach over and touch him lightly, he jumps slightly then looks at me sleepy making me laugh softly.

"Autumn! You're awake!" Jack grabs my hand and kisses it.

"Yeah how long was I out?" I yawn softly unable to help myself.

"Only a night the doctor gave you more than usual since he didn't want you waking up and freaking while he worked on your legs." Jack shrugs looking bothered by that fact.

"When can I go back to my room?"

"He said whenever you woke up I was allowed to take you back but he has you under strict relax orders."

"Ugh of course. Just because I'm a dang princess." I grumble rolling my eyes as I swing my feet out of the blanket.

Jack watches me as I rip the needles out of my arm and rip off the heartbeat monitor button things, i don't even know what they are called all I know is they are bothersome. I look and see a bag beside the bed and I frown slightly then reach out for it, Jack beats me to it and holds it out for me.

"Thanks but you know I can pick up a bag right?" I raise an eyebrow looking at him.

He doesn't say anything just watches me making me roll my eyes again, then I turn my attention to the bag and I open it. I smile when I see that it's a new uniform and new socks for it too.

"The school threw the other one out and gave you that. Apparently the socks are thick enough to not rip so easily and thin enough not to be bothersome in the summer." Jack explains as I take the bag to the bathroom wobbling slightly.

I nod then disappear in the bathroom to get changed, when I come out Jack is standing there waiting to catch me as I'm sure he heard me having trouble as I stumbled about in the bathroom. He catches me as I stumble and picks me up cuddling me to his chest.

"Don't worry Autumn it's just the medicine wearing off, you should be able to walk by yourself by tomorrow if you rest enough." Jack kisses my forehead before I could protest.

I sigh but stay silent as he carries me out of the hospital and back towards the dorm house. I watch the other vampires point and whisper as we pass and I scowl which Jack notices.

"They aren't doing it to you Autumn they do that wherever I go on campus.Oh also Angel wanted me to let you know that he is taking a three day course that will help him get the stuff he needs to go through with your plan."

I smile at that then kiss Jack on the cheek, I watch as we approach the house and Peyton comes running worry clear on his face. Jack growls slightly and I smack his chest lightly as if to say be good. Peyton reaches us just as Jack puts me down I lean against Jack so that my wobbly legs won't buckle under my weight. Peyton hesitates but I can see that he wants to hug me.

"Jack won't bite don't be afraid Peyton."

Peyton looks at Jack then wraps his arms around me making me go from leaning on Jack to leaning my weight on Peyton. His eyes widen and he looks at me as he feels my full weight on him.

"A bit too much knock out gas." I smile then let Jack pick me back up.

"Ah alright I was afraid something was wrong with your legs."

"Nope nothing except I can't feel them, so Jack is carrying me around until I can feel them." I giggle.

Peyton nods then stops slightly, "Autumn are you hungry? I can whip something up."

"That would be great actually they had me on a blood I.V and that for sure did not fill me up."

Peyton smiles then heads to the kitchen as we enter the dorm house, I look up the stairs as I hear someone coming down them.
