Chapter 33

Jack sighs shaking his head, "Autumn not today we are supposed to go shopping for things for the child."

"B-But." I pout as Jack quickly grabs a magazine and shoves it open to a random page in front of me.

I look and my eyes grow round and I grab the magazine and start to look through the cute baby stuff making him sigh in relief. I frown and look at him then go back to looking through the catalogues.  I get up after a few minutes and walk into my closet to get dressed for the day, I pause looking at an outfit I know that he would go nuts over and I smile then grab it and get dressed quickly. He comes in just as I'm zipping up my thigh high boots and I look up at him my eyes wide like I'm surprised that he caught me.

"Autumn what are you doing in that?" he eyes my corset and tight pants.

"It's called clothing." I smile then grab my black leather coat and I try to walk past him.

"It's called I know what you're doing." he growls putting a hand against the wall in my way

"Is it working?" I giggle then slip under his arm and past him.

I'm just about out of the closet when he grabs my hips and pulls me back towards him, one second I feel his hard chest against my back then all of a sudden I'm on my back looking up at him. I smile then he growls and I smell the blood and my eyes widen.

"J-Jack what's wrong? Are you hurt?" I whimper as he sags forward.

"No he's just unconscious and you seem to be trapped under him. Oh my whatever shall we do?" a voice drawls from the shadows of my closet making me growl.

"I'm not trapped under him but I'm not moving him either. Who are you?" I look around trying to find the source.

"Someone that just gave you a warning shot when I've never missed before." I frown as they speak trying to hear the gender through the voice but it's masked with something.

"You're hiding your voice, how?" I demand.

"Voice modulator, something those pathetic humans threw away because they got too greedy with electronics. Stupid don't you agree?" the voice chuckles.

"I agree Humans are too greedy for their own good but they are not pathetic. Their race is almost gone from the world and yet they fight tooth and nail to stay alive! They are brave, stupid yes but brave nonetheless!" I snap.

"Enjoy your nap little fang queen." the voice said and I swear I could hear a smile before I hear the sound of something whizzing in the air and then feel a pain.

I look to the left of me and wince when I see a needle sticking out of my arm, I study it quickly and realize it had a dose of something in it. Then I see that the needle itself is a specially made one that injects whatever it is carrying into whomever or whatever the needle itself is embedded in. I reach and grip it with my right hand and yank it out, but the liquid is already in me and my limbs start to feel heavy and fuzzy. I look at the needle one last time before I pass out from the drug.

When I wake up Jack is looking at me from above his face pale with worry. I smile and go to reach up to touch his face, but as soon as I move I realize that my hands are restrained and so are my legs. I look at Jack and realize that he's holding a bundle in his arms and then it hits me, the stench is so bad I have to fight back bile. As soon as the stench hits my nose I know that whatever Jack is holding in that bundle is dead or death itself. I whimper when Jack tries to show me the bundle.

"Jack why are you holding it? Can't you smell that? That thing is evil! KEEP IT AWAY FROM ME!!!!" I start to freak the closer he gets to me with the bundle. 

He doesn't say anything but keeps approaching me with the bundle and all of a sudden I am no longer tied down but instead I'm running from Jack and the bundle through dimly lit halls. I don't stop to look around as I run, I don't slow down but with each step I take Jack seems to catch up to me. I turn a corner and run smack into his chest making me scream.

"Autumn!!! Wake up!" I hear Jack's voice call.

My eyes open and I struggle, before I recognise anyone, as I feel myself being held down. I then realize that it's Jack holding me down and I start to calm down. 

"Autumn are you alright?" Angel asks from my right looking really worried.

"She will be she just needs to rest." Archie says from my right side.

"I'm alright I'm just tired..." I try to say but realize I can't open my mouth to speak  making me frown in confusion.

"Why can't she move now? She was just thrashing about." Jack says knowing why I frowned as he lets go of me.

"Who knows, the serum obviously is still working through her system. Like I said she needs to rest and I'm sure she will be back to her usual self." Archie says as Jack scoops me up.

He nods and silently takes me to the bed and lays me down worry in his eyes as he sits down and strokes my cheek with his thumb. My eyes close at his touch and a calmness comes over me making me very sleepy again. I open my eyes and Jack smiles seeing my tiredness.

"Sleep Autumn I'm right here." he says before he turns wolf and jumps up curling up beside me.

I turn towards him and snuggle close before allowing whatever drug surges through my veins take over and put me to sleep.
