The Vampire Princess and the Werewolf Prince (#1 of the Royalty Bites series)

Chapter Three

  I wake up the next night and stretch happily knowing I don't have school. I sit up and look around for Jack frowning when I can't find him I sigh and get out of bed. I shuffle down the stairs to the kitchen and jump when I see Jack.

  "Morning Autumn! Come have a blood smoothie. I made it especially for you. " he smiles as he looks up at me from the table.

  "Morning." I mumble as I shuffle over and take the smoothie from him.

  "Well? What do you think?" he watches me carefully as I sip it.

  "Amazing actually." I smile and sit down drinking it happily.

  "I'm glad." he smiles looking relieved.

  I smile back and set the empty cup down. I can tell he's watching me but I keep my gaze down. It's silent for a few minutes until Angel barges in.

  "I smell blood! Where is it?" he looks around then at my cup.

  "Jack made me a blood smoothie. There's no more left by the way. I had the only cup." I smirk watching his face fall.

  "Be nice Autumn, there's plenty left." Jack scolds me.

  "I know but I wanted to mess with his head." I giggle as Angel goes on the hunt for it.

  He eventually finds it and pours himself a glass and disappears after downing it. I look at Jack and smile then get up and head back upstairs. He follows me and sits on my bed as I walk into my closet to get changed. I come back out in sweatpants and a sweater my hair done up in a pony tail. Jack's eyes flash as he looks at me. I watch him carefully as I sit down beside him. He reaches over and pulls me close cuddling me close. I sigh and let him.

  "What do you want to do today Autumn?"

  "Can we go for a walk? I didn't get to go outside yesterday other than walking to and from school."

  "Of course dear." he gets up pulling me up with him.

  I let him lead me downstairs then outside. He holds my hand tightly and I look at the night sky and smile as it's clear and full of stars. We walk to the park and lay down on the grass looking at the stars and I smile.

  "This reminds me of our first date." I look at him.

  "I remember that night, happiest of my life. I remember how against the date you were because I'm a werewolf and you're a vampire. I remember how much I wanted everything to be perfect, I actually asked your brother what you liked. I was so nervous that you'd hate it." he laughs.

  I smile but go silent remembering that night my eyes closing.

  "Haven't I already said no to you?" I snap watching Jack look down.

  "I know you did...but please don't reject me just because of what I am. Give me a chance Autumn, I promise to make it perfect for you." he begs me.

  "Would it make you stop begging me like a pathetic little pup?" I scowl.

  "Yes."

  "Fine I'll give you a chance! Now go away!" I glare and watch as he beams and scampers off.

  That night I open my front door and see him dressed in jeans and a tight fit tank top with sneakers. I sigh and grab my jacket and ignore my shoes walking out onto the front porch in a similar outfit, the difference being I actually tried to look nice. I had put a very nice tank top that doesn't scream I just got out of the gym.

  "So where are we going?" I look at Jack.

  "Follow me and you'll see." Jack smiles and starts leading me to the park.

  When we get there I gasp as I see a beautifully laid out picnic with all types of food and blood drinks. I smiled let him lead me to the blanket. We eat and drink then we lay back on the blanket and watch the stars. We lay there for hours pointing out different constellations to each other. By the time we had to go back to my place I had warmed up to him enough that I had laid my head on his chest and my heart had warmed up to him too.

  "Autumn can I ask you something?" he asks as we walk back hand in hand.

  "Hmm? What is it?" I ask looking at him.

  "What colour roses do you like?"

  "Black...but that's not the real question you wanted to ask me is it?"

  "No...I wanted to ask you why you were so against dating me?"

  "Well you know as well as I do that Vampires and Werewolves have been warring since olden times."

  "I guess so. Anyway we're here. Goodnight Autumn I hope you had as much fun as I did today." he leans in for a kiss and I blush but let him kiss me softly.

  "I...I uhm...yea I did. Night!" I get so flustered I dash into my house and slam the door shut.

  I wake up in Jack's arms as he carries me back to the house. He smiles down at me and leans and kisses my forehead as if saying go back to sleep and I smile then do so unable to stay awake for some reason.
