Lexies POV
"I'm thinking of adopting you." She said smiling widely at me.
"REALLY! Wait but are you sure you want to adopt a lovatic?" Demi ruffled my hair and giggled.
"Yes sweetheart I'm ok with that." I can't believe my idol is going to adopt me I thought to myself. Demi looked at me worried,
"honey are you okay?"
"Yea why wouldn't I be?" I looks at her confused.
"I don't know you were just staring at the wall for awhile, I thought you were upset that's all." I smiled at her it made me happy knowing that she cared about me. Demi got up and went into her bedroom, I heard her digging thru her shelves. "Lexie I put some clothes out for you, there's soap and a towel in the bathroom." Demi picked up her phone and checked the time.
"Ok Lexie at 2 we have to be at the police station there going to ask you some questions ok?" I stared blankly at Demi and nodded. "Lexie your going to be ok I'm gonna be with you the whole time ok?" I smiled and nodded. "Ok baby girl go get ready."
3 hours later
"Lexie can you describe to me what the man looks like."
H-he had b-brown hair a-a-and blue eyes, t-tall and v-very str-strong." The lady typed very fast on the key board.
"Lexie how old are you?" How dose she not know my age I thought to myself.
"I'm 13 almost 14 why?" I was now staring into her eyes with confusion.
"Oh just making sure we didn't get it wrong." I slowly nodded.
"Now Lexie what did he do to you did he hurt you?" Now she was looking at me with concern in her eyes. I didn't answer I just looked at the ground hoping she would change the subject. She sighed. "Lexie we just wanna help you can you please tell me what he did?"
Flashback
I woke up tied to a chair in a unfamiliar room. The man who took me last night was staring at me with a sick smile on his face. "Hello sweetheart did you sleep alright?" I started crying.
"Wh-why are you d-doing this t-to m-me?" He came close to my face and put his head down on my neck. I flinched and that caused him to slap me across. "If you don't Cooperate with me your going to get punished." He started touching me and I begged him to stop. I got one of my hands free and slapped him. He glared at me and putt his hands around my throat.
"If you ever do that again I will kill you." He said thru his gritted teeth. "Do you understand me!?" I didn't answer. "I SAID DO YOU FUCKING UNDERSTAND ME!" I started whimpering. He grabbed a knife for his pocket. "No please don't I p-promise I will b-behave please." I begged he smiled at me. "I was just going to cut the rope but I already know your going to behave for me whether you like it or not got it."
"Y-yes." I stuttered. He cut the rope me and it stung I had rope burn on my wrist and legs it had already started to blister.
"Let's go have some fun." He picked me up and threw me onto his bed.
"No no please d-don't do this. I begged.
"Your going to have to do more begging to get me to stop sweetheart."
End of flashback
I was being shaken by the lady she looked really worried. "Lexie are you feeling alright?"
"Y-yeah sorry I-I'm just a-a little tired that's all. I don't think the lady believed me but I guess she didn't wanna pressure me.
"Okay Lexie honey can you please tell me the kinds of things he did to you? We really need to know." She simply stated.
"H-he would r-rape me." I whispered
"And s-sometimes he would i-invite h-his friends over and they would all h-hurt me in t-till I couldn't m-move and whenever I would s-scream they would p-punch me. Tears were now freely falling onto my lap. The lady pushed the box of tissues over to me and I thanked her.
"Lexie honey how did you Escape from him?"
"T-the last n-night I was w-with him, he was r-really drunk and he h-had a g-gun with him. So I waited in till he was a-asleep to run b-but he w-woke up a-and started to s-shoot at me, I blacked out and when I w-was back in it I w-was r-running." She looked at me amazed I didnt understand why tho. "Lexie do you understand how brave you were?" I smiled at her and she smiled back. "Ok honey that's all the questions when you go back out tell Miss. Lovato to come in ok?" I nodded. And walked out Demi got up. "How was it baby girl?" She said while putting her hands on my cheeks. "It was ok she says she wants to see you."
"Ok here's my phone you can play any game you want on there ok?" I smiled and nodded. I sat down and started playing temple run, man this games addicting.
Demi's POV
I smiled at Lexie and went into the office.
"Hello Miss. Lovato I'm Mrs. Fables how are you?"
"I'm good thank you and you can call me Demi."
"Ok Demi so about at what time did you find Lexie?"
"It was about 10:45 beside the grocery store." The lady typed really fast In to the computer, wow I can't even type that fast I thought to myself.
"Did you know that she Doesn't have any other family?" She stared at me.
"Yes I did know and I was thinking about adopting her, me and Lexie were talking about it this morning and she really wants me too." I said confidently.
"Ok I don't see why not but first we need to take a look at your records." I smiled and nodded.
"It says here that you used to self harm?" She looked at me concerned. Ok now I was starting to get pissed.
"Yes I did used to do that but I'm more than a year clean and you shouldn't have to worry." She nodded and typed into her computer. The clicking sounds from the keyboard was starting to give me a headache. "Ok Demi just sign these papers here and would you like to change her last name also?" I giggled.
"Yes that would be great."
"Ok your good to go, But Unfortunately we couldn't find the guy who did those terrible things to Lexie, but were searching for him now." I looked at her horrified.
"If anything happens just give us a call ok?" I nodded and walked out. I gave Lexie the biggest hug ever and said "we'll hello miss Lexie Lovato." Lexie screamed and jumped into my arms. I giggled "ok baby girl lets go shopping I'm going to show you what it feels like to shop till you drop ok?" Lexie Giggled. "Ok Demi."
I can't wait to tell my mom that she's a grandmother she's gonna get a kick out of that one. I smiled at Lexie she's so beautiful, I can't believe that anyone would ever treat her the way they did.
