Demi's POV
I'm in my car waiting outside of Lexie's school. I've been sitting here for about 10 minutes I guess it doesn't help that I showed up 20 minutes early. I just wanted to be safe like what if she didn't have a good day I would want to be here for when she came outside I wouldn't want to keep her waiting while she's upset. I found myself counting cars that went by, man I'm bored I should call my mom to waste time. I quickly dialed the number and waited for her to answer.
"Hello?" It wasn't my mom.
"Madison?"
"Well duh who else would it be?"
"I don't know where's mom?"
"Oh what you don't wanna talk to your favorite sister I see how it is." She playfully said.
"Ha ha ha very funny but no it's fine I haven't talked to you in awhile how have you been?"
"I'm fine but how's Lexie!? When do I get to meet her?" I had to hold the phone a couple inches away from my ear from her yelling.
"Ow Maddie stop yelling what are you trying to do make me go deaf?!"
"Ops my bad but seriously wheeeen?" She whined.
"In like 3 weeks."
"Why so long?" I could tell Maddie was making a pout face.
"Because she has court in 3 days and I still have 2 concerts and then after that I wanna at least get Lexie settled in my house then leave again." Maddie let out a long sigh.
"Fine but.. Can I at least have her phone number?"
"Ok." I gave Maddie Lexie's cell phone number, I made sure to tell her that she makes sure she says who it is.
"Calm down dems it's not like I'm gonna creep her out or anything."
"I'm sorry I just worry about her."
"You really care about her don't you?"
"Yes I would go to the moon and back for her she is my everything." I said proudly.
"Im happy for you dems." Awe now were getting all sappy.
In the corner of my eye I see Lexie kissing James. Ew they need to stop. James needs to know that Lexie is my baby girl and she can't grow up. I quickly slammed my hand on the horn that caused Lexie to jump off of James and blush a deep shade of red.
"What's going on?" Maddie said on the phone. Oh shit I forgot she was still on the phone.
"I beeped at Lexie and her little boy toy, but mads I'll text you ok?"
"Ok bye dems I love you see you soon."
"Love you to bye."
Lexie jumped in the car and glared at me.
"What?" I smirked.
"Don't you play dumb Demetria." I faked surprise.
"What I would never?" Lexie looked me right in the eye about to argue but wait is that a black eye!?
"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR EYE!?"
"I umm fell?"
"I know your lying."
"No I'm not!" She squeaked. I know her so well whenever her voice gets high that means she's lying.
"Tell me now." I said sternly.
"Demi please." She pleaded. I looked into Lexie's innocent eyes and sighed.
"Fine but when we get home your telling me."
The rest of the car ride was silent, but I could tell Lexie was having a battle with her thoughts. My poor baby why doesn't she trust me yet. Maybe she doesn't want to bother me, I'm gonna make sure I tell her that I'm always here for her, even if I'm in a bad mood. In no time we were back at the condo. Right when I parked Lexie jumped out of the car and sprinted for the door. The handle wouldn't budge. I couldn't help but giggle because I had the key. Lexie looked up into my eyes. Her face was full of terror I could tell Lexie was about to make a run for it but I grabbed Lexie by her wrist and dragged her into the house and on the couch.
"Lexie."
"Demi." She mocked.
"Tell me."
"It's no big deal really."
"Lexie it is a big deal. Who hurt you?"
"It's fine Demi."
"NO ITS NOT! I don't want my baby girl getting hurt! Why won't you just tell me!?" Shit I didn't mean to yell. Lexie's face went pail.
"Itwasmyhatersok? Please don't hurt me I'm sorry." Lexie rushed out. I tried to hug Lexie but she flinched. Her bottom lip quivered but she shook her head. I know Lexie hates crying but she has to let it all out or she'll never feel better. I quickly pulled Lexie into a hug ignoring her flinching again.
I could feel her pulse racing like crazy but then she let out a soft moan and sighed. I hate that she's so scared of me, I wish that I could carve it into her brain that I would NEVER lay a hand on her and I'll literally kill somebody that does.
"Just talk to me when your ready." I whispered.
"It was Stacy and Avery." Lexie blurted out. Before I could say anything she cut me off.
"But you gonna be proud to here this, I stood up for myself... For once."
"Good job lex! I'm proud of you." I truly was I'm glad that she's finally standing up for herself. I could see Lexie's pride shinning in her eyes.
"But lex why did they hit you?"
"I can't tell you that."
"Why is that?"
"You'll get mad at me..." Oh gosh what did she do.
"Just tell me lex I won't yell." Lexie let out a long sigh then continued.
"Well I was upset because Taylor told me to never leave her again and as you know I'm leaving again soon... So I ran away and bumped into Stacy and Avery. They told me that I deserved everything that Damian did to me and that my friends were going to leave me... I tried to leave really I did but Avery pinned me against the wall and told me to kill myself. So I slapped her, then Stacy punched me." I could feel myself clenching fist. My jaw Instantly locked.
"What else did they do." I said threw gritted teeth.
"Nothing." Lexie fired back.
"Are you lying to me." Lexie flung her body Into my arms. And put her face down on my shoulder.
"Yes that's all they did I swear but please calm down dems." It was kind of hard to hear her but I just nodded. We sat in silence for a minute.
"Hey why don't we watch a movie?" I asked trying to break the ice.
"Sure." Lexie chirped, man I love her.
