love, as always, -kota //
It was a year later, and I spoke to the moon on the night Gerard told me to. When he said to come back in a year and thank the moon, so I knew I had to do it, he asked me to. So as I sat in the field where Gerard and I first made love, I began talking to the moon, making sure she knew that I didn't blame her.
"You're lovely, you're lucky to have Gerard," I told her, sitting down underneath the tree. "Thank you for giving him to me for the short amount of time you did. Even though it broke me, it also helped me in so many ways. I said it before but, you really are lucky to have him with you."
I stopped talking, and looked to the stars, and they had seemed to shine brighter since Gerard went home, maybe they were glad to have their father back. "I don't blame you, any of you." I sighed, messing with a couple blades of grass. "Gerard if you're there, if you can hear me somehow, send a sign."
He sent a sign, a rather obvious one too. He sent a shooting star. "Make a wish, huh? You think you're funny. . . I wish. . . I wish that when I die I'll be able to join you on the moon," I said, smiling fondly at the moon. "When I have a kid, I'm gonna name him Orion, after your favorite constellation." I chuckled, shaking my head a bit at the thought. "I love you, Gerard. I always will."
