Blue ink falls from my hands into the sink. I lather up more and wash as much as I can away. This is just great. I hope I don't get it on my shirt.
The stall door from behind me swings open. Yay another human. I look up to see whose presence I'm blessed with. Red and white cheer uniform feels the mirror. I quickly look away.
Wait. I look back up. It's bow tie. She looks different up close. Not any less cheery but different in a way.
"Hi!" Her voice goes slightly high pitched. I turn back to my hands. "Hey." I reply before I realize it. Did I just socialize with a cheerleader. Glad no one is around to witness that. Today is just full of surprises.
She looks into my blue filled sink and ask what happened. I raise my hands and let her know it was a pen accident. She lets out a laugh. Whoa sorry my misfortune is enthusing to you. Can't say that so I just stick my hands back under the running water.
Bow tie apologizes but that was enough social interaction for me. The blue is finally faded on my hands. I hear her say something but I wasn't paying attention.
I guess as long as it doens't rub off I'm good. I dry my hands and head back to homeroom. By the time I get back announcements are done and the bell rings.
My first hour is English. Which is my favorite. Probably the only class I put effort in. I don't even know how I'm a senior. I do the minimum in ever class and barely passed with C's.
Since this class is alright, I take a seat in the middle section. I put my beanie back on. The other kids talk and shout while I just sit and wait.
Turns out this teacher is cool as eff. He says we can listen to music and eat food! All my favorite stuff. Even better he didn't say anything about my hat.
Now off to second hour. Study hall. I'd normally ditch this class but it's the first day I don't want to go home and get yelled at by my mom.
I walk through the library trying to find somewhere to sit. Every table is already sprinkled with two's or three's of kids. I go to a table that's between the book shelves. Only one person is sitting there.
Of all people, it's bow tie.
I let out a sigh and walk over to the other side of the table. If I put my head phones in maybe she wont talk to me. I look at her as I sit. She's lost in the book in front of her. It's an old book. It has a tear down the spine.
I watch her face as she reads. Thick well defined eyebrows raise and fall. Plump red lips part then shut tight in a line. I can read the emotion from the book all over her.
Someone comes from the opposite side I entered in and stops by our table. I glance to the side. It's another cheerleader. One of the girls I saw this morning and from my homeroom.
"Mila!" The caramel haired girl whispers loudly. Bow tie's head shoots up at her. "Hey Ally cat!" She greets her short friend.
I take this opportunity to hit the play button. Some more Lana will never hurt.

Science was my first hour. I had Normani in that class so it was fine. She told me about Arin, her boyfriend. How he ran into some random girl and she yelled at him. She says she wishes she knew who it was so she can tell her off. I just laugh. Mani is a tough girl who doesn't let anyone mess with her or who she loves.
We actual met because she was defending me freshmen year. I was struggling to carry all my books and pom poms as an older dude bumped me. She was all over him like white on rice. It was best friends forever after that.
