Lauren

An hour later I finally leave third hour hell. It was marketing. I think I mentally killed that teacher a hundred times. I even contemplate jumping from the second story window. It was horrible. You know how when a teacher talks soo slow about a topic that holds no interest to you at all. Well times that by infinity. Looks like I found my new class to ditch daily.

My next class is downstairs. I push through the crowded halls and stairwell only to come face to face with a note on the door.

"Mr. Wayne's fourth hour history class will be held in room 501 due to maintenance issues."

Great I have to walk all the way up stairs again. For a physically fit person I sure am lazy. But my feet move me forward anyway.

I get to room 501 at last. I'm the third person in the room so seat selection is easy. The crappy thing is that this is originally a science class so the desk are built for two people. Fingers and toes crossed I don't have to sit by any one.

Waiting, I seem hopeful. No one has sat by me as the warning bell rings.

Camila

Well choir was fun! All the girls have it third period as well! This will be a very fun class! We made our Demi Lovato concert plans.

Maybe a little too long talking in the hall afterwards. I rush to my next class when the warning bell belts out its tune. I wiggle the doorknob but its locked. Looking up to peak into the class I see a note informing students that the class is being held in a different room.

Awesome! Now I'm even more late. I run as fast as my legs allow it then sprint up the stairs.

I about crash through the door as the finally bell rings. "Thank you for joining us Ms..." "Cabello, Camila." I salute the teacher. "Please take a seat Ms. Cabello." He informs me with a wave over the room. I look for an unoccupied seat an there is only one in the far back corner.

The only one available of all the tables happens to be right next to the girl in a beanie. Oh God why?

I walk over and sit next to her on the high stole. She looks up then does a double take. I flash her a smile and she just nods. Hmm?

As the teacher finishes talking, students pick up their own conversations. An awkward silence hangs over our table so I fish out my book and start to read.

Lauren

Just as the finally bell rings the door  swings open reveling who other then bow tie herself. I look away hoping she'll sit anywhere but here. But after a few exchanged words with Mr. Wayne she's right next to me.

She smiles and I simply nod. I have to deal with her all semester might as well try to be civil. I mean at least she's decent looking. Uh stop Lauren. In no way shape or form will a preppy, sociable cheerleader be interested in the slightest bit of any form of relationship with you. Not that I am interested. Just reassuring that nagging voice in the back of my head.

Then something happens something I quickly regret. I think.

"What's your book about?" I speak so fast I'm not sure she fully understood. She perks up and a smile forms on her face as she begins.

"This couple got separated when a twister hit the town. She had just found out she was pregnant. So they searched everywhere for each other. If one returned back to the destroyed town the other had just left. It's soo heartbreaking! They finally just got reunited and the baby is a few years old now..."

I watch as her eyes light up. Her brows rise and fall with the story line. I just nod in understanding. The book actually sounds good. Well the way she describes it anyway. "Interesting." I nod some more. She continues telling me all about that old beaten up book as I just admire that face until the bell rings.

It's lunch time now. I've learned to avoid the cafeteria the first day of freshmen year. My routine is, grab some ships, a soda from the vending machines and head outside. I sit behind the tree facing the football field. I don't particular sit facing the field. more like sideways facing the far off highway.

Before I press play on my phone to hear some Demi (because now I'm in that mood) I hear laughing coming from my left side. I turn to look with just enough time to see the cheerleaders walking down the hill to the field below. I see her bow tie vanishes out of sight as they make their descend.

I should stop calling her that. I know her name now.

Camila

Lauren asked what my book was about. It took me off guard for a second but I recovered fast. If you know me, you know that is not a question you want to ask if you don't have time to hear it. I begin by telling her about the main plot then break into each characters journey. She nods as I talk. "Interesting." Escapes her mouth so I know she's paying attention. I continue with a thorough synopsis of the book I fell in love with until the bell rings.

"Mila over here!" Nomani waves through the crowd of people. I zig zag through everyone and through my hands over her. "I thought I'd never see you again!" I pretend to be dramatic. She plays along too. Squeezing me she says. "I can never stay away from you!" We laugh and walk toward the rest of the girls waiting in line ahead.

"OOOOOh!" I coo as we approach Dinah and Siope in the middle of a steamy make out session. Dinah pulls away and giggles in his chest. Aw! They're so cute!

We get our lunch look for an empty table.

"Lets just go to the field!" Ally throws her fist into the air. We follow suit and thrust our fist in laughter.

Walking outside Ally grabs my arm into hers. "Soo I heard from a little birdie that Austin is into you." She winks with a grin. "Uh..." I begin but she continues. "Come on Mila! When's the last time you shared the company of a guy?"

I think about it for a minute. The last time I can think of is last year. With Toby King. We went miniature golfing. I sucked soo bad. It was nothing serious though. He was my first kiss though. I cringe at that thought.

I mean it's not that I don't want to date it's because I don't really click with anyone. I didn't feel anything with him. Maybe I'm doomed to be a lonely cat lady!

"Camila?! Seriously girl get your head out of the clouds!" Ally laughs loudly. "I was thinking of your question!" I shove her arm playfully trying to play it off hoping she wont bring it up again.

We all sit at the bottom of the hill right before the track. Normani sits between Arin's legs. Their fingers inner laced and teasing each other repeatedly with blades of grass. Dinah sits close to Siope too. They're listening to her phone. Ally and I sit chatting with the other girls Ellona, Diana and Gia. They were on the squad with us last year too so we know them pretty well.

"So Camila... Austin huh?" Diana smirks over at me. "Oh my gosh does everyone know?" I ask throwing my hands up. "He's been asking everyone about you. He says you grew up over the summer." Ellona starts but Gia finishes. "A.K.A. he thinks you got hot!" They all roar with laughter.

I don't think it's funny. I think I look the same. He just finds me attractive he knows nothing about me. "Well what did you say?" I ask them hoping it's nothing huge.

"Just that he should talk to you himself." Ally joins in. "You guys! I'm horrible at talking to boys!" I confess.

"We know that. But you never know! So if he approaches you be prepared!" This time Normani talks.

I pout. They all laugh. "You guys are the worse." I rip fist full of grass out and throw it at them. They join in and we have a little grass throwing fight.
