"I have a surprise for you." Matt told me halfway through the day, by the lockers.

I raised a suspicious eyebrow and said "What are you talking about?"

We walked together towards our classroom. There was less than four weeks left of class and everyone was kind of nervous for final exams, the holidays and all that jazz.

When we took our seats inside the room, I was waiting for Matt's answer and the only thing I got was the stupid smirk of his and a glint in his eyes that indicated nothing good. Right in that moment, our psychology professor started the lesson and all I could do was shut my mouth.

Matt and I listened closely to the lecture and took notes, not paying attention to anything else. After that awkward dinner with my family, Matt seemed to be more focused and centered, and also more aware of my every move.

After two tortuous hours of non-stop listening and scribbling every word the professor said, we were free. We had an hour of free period and Matt and I were going to spend it at the library going over and comparing notes to see if we had everything clear.

We were on our way now when I suddenly remembered and turned around "What did you mean to tell me earlier?"

"It's a surprise." He said while collecting some books.

I gave him -and his books- a suspicious look.

"A surprise for what?"

He looked at me pensively and then shook his head with a slight smile. "For you."

I glared at him and said "I know, silly. At least, I hope so. But why a surprise now? And why are you looking at me like I'm an idiot?"

He quietly laughs at me and shakes at me once again. "I bet you don't even know what day we live in." he whispers.

I look at him intensely "What do you think? I really don't know what day it is today."

"You're just something else." He mutters quietly when he walks by me, in search of some more books.

I followed after him and through the bookshelves, looking for an empty table to leave our things and sit on. When I spotted two empty seats, I quickly charge towards them and sat my lazy ass on them. I took my notes out of my bag along with my highlighters and my psychology readings while I waited for Matt to be done with his book hunt.

Ten minutes later into my readings, Matt sat in front of me with a pile of four of the biggest books I had ever seen.

"What are those for?" I whispered to him.

"Research." He shrugged it off.

Research for what? I thought. Then again, Matt and I didn't share all of our classes and he probably needed them for some of his individual projects.
