Days passed and things between Matt and I hadn't progressed much. I gave him 'the tour' he wanted around our stupid town and even agreed to have lunch together at the local diner. I admitted that he made me laugh and that I considered him a kind of friend, but don't tell him I said that!

Don't get me wrong, we still had a laugh from time to time and he still pestered me about going out together sometimes and whatnot, but what I 'feared' would happen, happened. It certainly wasn't a terrible thing, of course, I'm just a tad bit exaggerated.

Matt made new friends.

Male friends.

Obviously this was going to happen. It's not like I wanted him for myself, but I guess I had gotten used to him following me around like those first days when he didn't know anyone.

On the other hand, I think I've gotten closer to Aubrey, definitely. Although she's kinda preoccupied with her current boyfriend, I know she's been making time for me and I appreciated it. I wasn't the type of girl that got attached to friends, I wasn't clingy I guess, so I liked my solitude. Sometimes it was loneliness because I actually felt alone, but an awful lot of other times it was just my solitude demanding some time.

Also, things at home haven't changed either in these past fifteen days. Not for the good, and not for the bad. Which is good. Everything's normal.

I know deep down I really wish things were better and that I'm fooling myself here but I can't help but feel like this.

Since mom died, Jake and dad have made no effort to talk to me, communicate with me or at least ask me for any explanaition. I truly believe they just don't care. And I thought I'd do just the same.

Not many people remember the accident in this town. Only my family knew and I chose to tell Aubrey a couple of years ago but that was it. And no one knew about the nightmares. Although I was sure Jake did know, since he heard me at night, he just chose to do nothing about it.

On another note, I was also trying to make more time to be with Mia and Stella. I had thought about it for a long time and decided that they were good for me. So I was trying to, slowly, let them in.

Today it had been a month since I met Matt, and we hadn't talked much, the usual teasing from him in our classes and that was it basically. So when I was chilling with Stella and Mia in the school cafeteria in our free period, I was surprised to see Matt strolling down the hallway and coming through the rest of the tables that surrounded us to stop at our table.

"Good morning ladies." He smirked. He grabbed a chair and sat right next to me. I gave him a stranged look but decided to ignore him anyway.

"Morning!" Mia beamed at him. Ew. Stell mumbled a 'hello' under her breath, shy as always. She was more like me, Mia was the sociable one.

"So, what are you up to?" he asked us, looking specifically at me. Mia noticed this and decided to play along.

"Not much. Actually, Stella and I need to get going now, we had a meeting with a teacher..." she gives Stella a look and she takes a few seconds to catch on.
