#5 The Letter

213 34 31

Crumpled paper and inked fingers,
As I write you the perfect letter.
A letter is necessary, so you can see
What I've been up to past year.

The letter is a tribute to our bond,
To the times we shared by the pond.
From the fights to the friendship,
We were truly kindred souls.

I sit by the window, looking at our sacred place,
Remember the times when magic caused coincidences.
Now I try to forget the cruel words we said,
Blind with anger, deaf with ignorance.

I write and write, try as I might,
To voice my regret and make the world right.
But my fingers cramp up, and my
Throat chokes back the words.

A year passed by so long, without you on my side,
From you, my thoughts, I could never hide.
A letter isn't enough to put into words,
All the emotions that I kept locked up.

Yet I try, night after night, to write
The perfect letter to convey my plight.
To express my sorrow and also my guilt,
I write on the paper so that you can read.

I hope this reaches you in pink of health,
And you have all the world's wealth.
I write this letter so I could say to you,
How sorry I was and to make amends too.
