16. Sacrifice (1/5)

(A/N) This is gonna be a mini series that you find out that Noctis has to marry Luna and has to leave you. This is gonna be a sad mini series but I may put a happy ending... or not. Hope your prepared some tissues :) 

Noctis POV

"Father! I will not leave (Y/N) to marry Luna!" I yelled at my father, King Regis. My father sighed shakily and turned to face me.

"Son... I know how much you love (Y/N) but this is the only way that we could bring alliance between Lucis and Tenebrae." My father calmly said, taking note of my sudden outburst. I greeted my teeth in anger, how could I do this? How could my father do such a thing to me? Why?!

"But father..." I bit my lip. I had full awareness of this and I never told (Y/N) about this, I knew if I told her the truth she'll leave me and I need her in my life...I love her so much. I never wanted to go through an arrange marriage not when I have someone whom I loved and spent the rest of my life with. I wanted (Y/N) to become my wife and my queen for eternity, and the thought of leaving her...I would rather die than make her go through this.

"Is...there another option ?" I timidly asked my father.

Regis visibly sighed and looked down, "Noctis," he spoke. "there are some things that must be sacrificed to make our kingdom better."

"But...I love her father..." I whispered lowly as I gripped my hand into a fist.

"I know you do son. (Y/N) is a wonderful and beautiful woman, but the safety of Lucis is our priority. I always wished you and (Y/N) would be together for eternity but she's not royalty and she's not fit right to become queen." I know that my father is hurt by saying this, he really liked (Y/N) but as much as I hate saying this, he is right. "It won't be that bad." my father place his hand on my shoulder for comfort.
"You and Luna known eachother since you were children. You've always spent time with her all of your childhood." said Regis who tried to crack a smile but I simply looked down at the floor. "You still have that promise you made with her right?"

It won't be the same though, I breathed heavily and shook my head lightly. Don't get me wrong I care about Luna as well, the memories I had with her were precious. But the feelings I have for her are very different. I love her but only as a friend or sister nothing more.

I sat down on the couch bench where a picture of my father and me when I was young as I sat on the throne with my father beside me. I kept on looking on the floor not wanting to face my father.

"Unless."

Hearing that singular word made my heart began to race. I lifted my head to meet my father's gaze.

"If you can think of another option besides marriage that can bring Tenebrae and Lucis together the I'll be happy to hear it from you." he placed his hand on my neck for comfort. "But if there isn't one then you have to tell (Y/N) sooner or later." My father gave me a comfortable smile and left me alone as I think.

Was there another way than marriage? I really don't want to admit it, but I fear there's no other way. I punch the wall out of anger making the wall crack a bit as I felt tears in my eyes. I can't do this to her even it means to protect Lucis and free Tenebrae from their capture from Niflhiem. I gritted my teeth even tighter as my tears finally streamed down my cheek.

"Dammit!" I choked and fell to my knees as I covered my face and silently cry. I stayed in the same place what felt like forever until I felt someone hand on my back. I slightly turned and saw Ignis, Gladio and Prompto looking at me with a sad expression.

"Noct? Is everything alright?" Ignis asked. I shake my head to his question as I stood up and wipe my teary eyes.

"I have to talk to (Y/N)," I said.

"May I ask why at this time?" Ignis questioned. I bit my lip as my bangs covered my eyes. They waited for my answer until I spoke again.

"I have leave (Y/N) in order to marry Lunafreya." I could see in there eyes that they're in shock.

"B-but you...and....(Y/N) are perfect for eachother how could you even leave her like that!" Gladio said with slight anger in his voice. I stayed quiet not knowing what to say until he grabbed me by the collar and pushed me to the wall.

"Answer me!" he yelled as Prompto tried to break us apart.

"Guys come on stop!" Ignis said trying to help Prompto.

"Noctis are you seriously gonna just leave her like that and get married are you serious?!" Gladio yelled again and I just had enough as I began to yell.

"It's not my idea! it was my father, he said it would free Tenebrae from Niflhiem and formed alliance to our kingdom! Trust me I do not wish to leave (Y/N) but I have to...there's no other way!!" Gladio was speechless as he let go of my collar. There was silence in the hallways, both Ignis and Prompto stayed quiet and couldn't believe what they were just told. I walked away from them, I needed to be alone and go to (Y/N) place so I could tell her the news.

(A/N) Omg I feel such a bad person for writing this I was almost in tears when I wrote this but hopefully I didn't make you cry hehe hope you like this chapter until next time.
