27. Father's Acceptance

You both entered the living room and felt a dark and gloomy aura around your father making Noctis shivered. Your father was sat in his armchair, reading the daily newspaper.

"Uh...hey dad..." You squeezed Noctis's hand, and he pulled you closer to him a bit. Your father folded up the newspaper, rising to his feet and turning towards the pair of you.

"Hey my princess," He smiled softly at you, but it quickly became a glare as he noticed how close Noctis was to you.

"Prince or not, remove yourself from my daughter. Now!" The old man barked, making Noctis jump. He released your hand, taking a carful step away from you. Noctis didn't want to get on the wrong side of your father.

"Dad! Don't be mea---" You couldn't finish on you about to say as your mother appeared from the hallway, whisking you away to the kitchen to make some tea. You hoped your father wouldn't kill Noctis while you were away.

Noctis could feel the glare and the aura from your father as he sat down across from your father. He didn't say much, only glare. Noctis has a sweat drop down on his head. Feeling nervous and scared.

By the time you returned with two teacups, one for each of them, you saw that they were both seated across from each other. Your father was interrogating Noctis with a barrage of questions, most of which were all centred around you.

"Can you swear you'll never break her heart?"

"I swear that will never happen."

"What if my daughter want to break up with you?" Your father crossed his arms.

"I won't let her go... But if she's unhappy, I will for her sakes. All I want is to make her happy since her happiness is my happiness."

"Well, your a prince and princes will have an arranged marriage, what will happened when that time comes?" Now it became more serious.

"Mr. (L/N), I will never leave her for another woman. Even if my father arranged a marriage for me I will declined it. Your daughter is the only person I ever love and will love forever and i want her to become my future wife if our relationship goes well." Noctis replied calmly but seriously. Your father stayed quiet and was shocked at his response. You couldn't help but feel butterflies in your stomach as you smile to yourself.

"Can you protect her forever?"

"With all my strength sir, I will risk my life for hers to keep her safe."

"D-dad! Stop asking so many questions!" You yelled as a blush rose to your cheeks.

"Last question, what do you love about her?" Your dad asked and you stayed silent wanting to know as well.

"Umm.. t-that's... she gives meaning to my life, to the point where I can't imagine my life without her. She's so beautiful that she's too good for me, she makes me feel lucky when I'm with her and she always know how to surprise me. She's basically the reason my life feels so perfect... so... umm... basically e-everything," Noctis stuttered out an embarrassment response and you had he urge to embrace him into a suffocating hug.

"Me too! You look so adorable when you laugh and smile, you brighten up my day every time I see you, I could stare at you forever and I'd still feel like I haven't had enough of you! You understand me so well, it's like you can read my mind and... and... I-I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you!" You confessed and after a few moments, your father grinned cheerfully.

"Well then, my boy, I've heard enough to know you truly love my daughter. Welcome to the family," Your father smiled and both you and Noctis exchanged a smile but then the door suddenly burst open with your brother coming in.

"Oh? Is (Y/N)'s boyfriend here?" Your brother asked as he looked around the room.

"Um...he's right here?" Your corrected him until he locked eyes with Noctis.

"Haha your funny sis, there's no way you can date a prince of Lucis." your brother laughed until Noctis came behind you as he wrap his arm around your waist as he gave you a kiss on the cheek.

"Oh it's true little man, the prince of lucis who is right in front you is dating your sister," Noctis said as he smirked.

"Ehhhh!!!!" That's all what your brother said.
