I went into my room and grabbed my sketch pad. I opened to the first empty page I saw. My sketch pad was filled with Hamilton, mermaids, and other mythical creatures. I started to draw a mermaid (go figure) but not any mermaid. I drew that odd women I saw. The one with the abnormally long hair and violet eyes. But before I started drawing I went back to the first page. It was like a story with pictures. But with me. This wasn't my sketch book. First, me becoming a mermaid until me just talking to Luke and Brian as I was walking home. It had little speech bubbles to. Like a comic book or graphic novel. Though I lived through this less than 3 days ago it ceased to amaze me. I heard the door slam at the end of the hall close. The door to Luke's room. It sounded like whoever was in there was not trying to be heard though. The only people that were home were Hannah, Syrena, and I. Hannah was probably in the dance studio and Syrena was either studying or in the studio with Hannah. Then there was a loud crash. Should I go in? Is it weird to go into your crushes room? Yep, definitely weird. But I'm curious. It wouldn't hurt. That's it. In going in. I sat the sketch book down and creeped down the hallway. The door creaked as I pushed it open. I took a step in. Surprisingly, it smelt like saltwater not B.O. I looked around and spotted a bucket that had ocean water in it. I walked over to the book shelf. Out of all of the books there was one that caught my eye. It had a leather cover and had the words Mermaids and other Fantasy Creatures. I grabbed the book of the shelf and opened it. A bunch of letters came out. Had our number system, our alphabet, and some basic words. A letter came out.
                                January 12, 2012
Dear Luke,
Obviously if I was on land I'd be texting you right now but I'm not. My parents have been dragging me around the Celtic Sea for ages. Several times we stayed on land but most of the time we stayed in the water. It hasn't been the same without you around. It's been lonely ever since you moved into land when you were 7. I know I've said this a billion times but you really should visit more often. How are things in land? What do humans even like? Well thanks for reading this really boring letter. Please write me back. And I promise that I'll try to persuade my parents to visit you in Florida.
                                     Love,
                                     Jaelyn
Since when has Luke known a mermaid? And since when did he actually become friends with one?
"Urrgg!" I heard a voice from the bathroom. I put the letter back into the book and back onto the shelf. I grabbed Moby Dick off of the shelf and creeped into the bathroom. I threw it at whatever was in the tub.
"Heidi, what was that for!"
"Sorry Luke, kinda thought you were a masked killer." I said blushing and smiling.
"And your plan was to throw a book at them." He said smirking and raising an eyebrow. He threw the book back at me.
"Ok we should seriously stop throwing this or my dad will kill me." I said laughing.
"Wait why are you in the tub?" I questioned cocking my head.
"You know, cleaning."
"Where's the cleaning supplies?"
"Are you a detective now?" I opened the shower curtain and instead of his legs he had a long teal tail.
"Your a merman."
"I'm surprised you aren't screaming." He said.
"I'm surprised your not trying to get out of this."
"I'm actually stalling and trying to think of some explanation. Clearly that's not working."
"Nope. One question, who's Jaelyn?"
"Just a friend from forever ago. Were you snooping through my stuff."
"Maybe." I said.
"So you know about me living in the ocean."
"Yeah."
"Please don't tell anyone."
"I'm not a snitch." He chuckled at that.
"Hey meet me in my room in 10 minutes."
"Bye Heidi."
"Bye." I went back to the sketch book. It was just so weird. There was 2 new pages. Me snooping in his room and that entire conversation that just happened. The weird thing is I couldn't erase or draw on any of the pages.
"Hey what's the sketchbook about. By the way, how's you remember that entire conversation and draw that in ten minutes."
"I didn't. This isn't even my book it just appeared here."
"Can I look at it."
"No."
"Why."
"Because there's stuff I don't want you to know about in here."
"Fine but that's the only secret I'm telling you." He said jokingly.
"Also I know that you like Sydney. Really, Sydney she is like the jerkiest person in the school."
"Please, I just needed a fake crush to get out of that conversation. Wait, how'd you hear that conversation. Is there something you want to tell me."
"I was walking to a little cove and I could hear you." Once again, lies and excuses.
"I don't believe you."
"Trust me, you'll find out eventually. Now get out of my room I'm going to my friends house."
"Meet me at the beach at 8."
"Ok fish boy!" I slammed the door and started to run into the water and swim to the cave to meet Ariel. I had a lot of things to talk about. And a lot of explaining on why I was 1 hour late.

In the next chapter should I add on a sketch of Heidi? Thanks for reading.
