Chapter 8

I crept out of the kelp.
"What are you doing?!" Ariel grumbled.
"To totally Shawn Spencer this thing." I had to make a Psych reference, didn't I? I swam over and tapped her shoulder.
"Hi me name is Helga Von Snitchel. I am from Sweden or Germany. I don't know. Now may I interest you in a.... croissant?" I said. I mentally face palmed myself.
"No but may I interest you in dying."
"I don't know m- wait what?!" In at least 2 seconds I was dodging a knife and Shawn Spencering and Burton Gustering this thing. Except I don't have back up. In about 20 seconds she passed out.
"Why didn't you save me earlier I've been dodging for like, an hour!"
"23.6 seconds."
"I'm gonna say it was an hour. That'll turn my luck around." I said.
"Should we start dragging Luke?" Asked Ariel.
"I call left!" I yelled. We were swimming and dragging a merdude. I never thought I'd be doing this but yet, here we are. About half way through he woke up.
"What happened?" He moaned.
"Jaeyln nearly killed you for some reason."
"Probably because I killed her sister when I was 13." We stared at him.
"She was evil. She's not even dead she's just somewhere in a mental hospital in Peru. Underwater that is." I shrugged
"Oh yeah, Heidi also tried to 'Shawn Spencer' this thing and nearly died."
"I bombed it. Terribly." We swam toward the cove.
"You owe us big time." Ariel said.
"We practically saved your life." I added on.
"Fine. Come on." We swam slowly and came to a stop.
"Why'd we stop?" I asked.
"Hide." Luke said as he pushed us behind a big rock.
"Why are we hiding?" Ariel asked:
"Because Monica will kill us if she sees us. I don't even know how she's alive." He said squinting at her.
"That stupid fish is back. How?"
"I don't know but once she passes swim as fast as you can toward the beach house." I whispered.
"Now!" We quickly swam hoping to not be spotted by Monica. Once we got to shore Ariel went home and so did Luke and I. Today was exhausting. When we got home we flipped on the sofa.
"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked.
"Sure." He replied. We went onto Netflix and chose a movie.

That's our thing. We call each other nicknames.
"Who's that?" Luke asked.
"Oh just Briar." We kept watching the movie but we never finished it. In the middle we fell asleep on the sofa. I'm pretty sure that Luke got no sleep because I kick. Also he told me that I kicked him in the gut so many times that he moved to the other sofa.
"I'm exhausted." I groaned.
"You are? You kicked me in the face twice, in my gut twenty times, and on my neck once."
"Noted." I said as I scrolled through Instagram.
"You're not even paying attention, are you?"
"That's great." I replied. He just rolled his eyes.
"Come on let's go to the beach."
"Fine but I'm not getting in the water."
"Good luck." He told me. We ran out of the house and to the beach.
