Chapter 16

We swam for about an hour. After the long swim we came to a beautiful lagoon. The water was crystal clear and there were rocks surrounding it. Many giant flowers and plants surrounded the lagoon. I swam in behind Brynn.
"This place is so beautiful!" I exclaimed. I did a flip under the water and dove out like a dolphin.
"You must like it." Brynn said.
"I love it! It's like a mermaid dream house!"
"It's a wishgiver's house. My moms. No one even remembers it anymore now that she's not around anymore."
"Oh I'm so sorry."
"It's alright. I got to inherit her hideout."
"Ha!" I laughed.
"I know!" She laughed. We talked about stuff. You know, cute guys, makeup, the things girls talk about. I looked in my hand mirror and checked my hair and makeup. Oh no! I was becoming a real mermaid.
"Do you sing?" Brynn asked.
"Totally!" I said. No! I don't sing! Ugghhhh! Suddenly I was singing an old sailor song. How'd I even know that? Oh my god my voice was amazing! And my ego is huge!
"You have an amazing voice!" She said.
"Thanks." I told her. I sat on the rock in silence.
"Do you ever wish you could be human? Explore the world of  humans and all of their things." I asked.
"Yeah but you know all about them don't you?"
"To be honest I don't remember that much." I mumbled.
"This isn't good. Eventually the spell will take full effect and you'll never be human again. We have to reverse this." My tail had a sharp pain go through it. I moaned and clutched my tail. I heard a crack. Then two. Then fifty?! Brynn stared at me with worry. Then it stopped. She looked at me in fear.
"What?" I asked.
"The spell i-it is, you you can't reverse it." She squeaked.
"What?!" I screamed.
"You mean I won't be human again?!" She nodded. I cried into what would've been my knees.
"This can't be happening." I whimpered.
"Come on Heidi. We better get back home." Brynn whispers to me.
"Ok." We swam sadly to her house and I went up to "my" room. I locked the door and plopped onto my bed. I guess this is my life now. After 2 hours I heard a knock on my door.
"Do you want to go to the mall? My aunt is...cooking."
"Sure." I managed to cough up. I swam out and swam into the village with Brynn. There was a merdude with a dark blue tail. He was tan and had reddish-brown hair and a few freckles on his cheeks and nose. He swam over to me.
"Hi I've never seen you around here." He said.
"I'm new." I said.
"Hi I'm Dylan."
"I'm Heidi." I said. He was cute...I guess. But I liked Luke. I don't know. Great, even more mer drama. Not now am I only a mermaid for the rest of my life but now I like a merdude. Typical. Now I gotta go deal with with more mer drama. I hope I can just survive a day down here.
I just saw Miss Penigrin home for peculiar children. Scary but good. Thanks for reading.
