Cora's P.O.V
"HOW AM I THE STUPID ONE HERE???" Thorin exclaimed.
The others left the room, thinking this is a conversation for just me and Thorin.
"Let's go to our room to talk." I told him.
When we got to my room, he looked at me expectantly.
"Thorin, I promise I'm not poisoned." I said.
"Then what the heck is wrong, because this is the second time this week!" he exclaimed desperately.
"I'm pregnant, you idiot."
"YOU'RE WHAT?!?!"
"See, that's why I didn't tell you before." I sighed.
"Well it's kinda unexpected."
"Unexpected? You were the one who was saying you wanted a daughter!"
"Well, how long until the baby is born?" he asked softly, with a hand on my stomach, tracing my scars.
"Seven months."
"Well, we have a kingdom to tell, don't we?" He gave me a crooked grin.
We had gotten everyone in Erebor together, and Thorin had an arm around me, and I had my arm around his waist.
"So? What's the big news?" asked my former neighbor.
Thorin looked at me, and I stepped forward.
"In seven months, Thorin and I will have our first child." I was completely surprised by everyone's reaction.
Everyone was cheering and yelling and clapping.
Thprin, who I thought was a good five feet behind me, slipped his arms around my waist while standing behind me.
"We have a few friends to visit, now don't we?" he whispered in my ear.
"Of course. We need to tell Bilbo, and Legolas, and Dain, and Aragorn, and all our other friends that live elsewhere." I replied softly.
"Then let's go pack."
A few days later, we were in Mirkwood. Legolas was finally questioning the reason of our visit.
"So, why'd you come?" he asked, jumping straight to the point.
"Well, Legolas, I'm pregnant." I said, smiling and waiting for his reaction.
"Well congratulations!" he exclaimed, enveloping me in a bone crushing hug.
"Legolas... I.... can't.... breathe..."
"Sorry." He blushed as he released me.
A couple days later, we were in Rivendell talking to Elrond and Arwen.
"Congratulations Cora! You must send word to me when the baby is born!" Arwen said excitedly.
"Of course I will! You are like a sister to me!" I replied.
Two days after that, we were at Bilbo's house. I had a small, very small baby bump, hardly even noticeable.
"Well, well, well, what brings the happy couple to my home?" Bilbo asked.
"We thought you might like to know that I am pregnant." I said, keeping a straight face.
"Congratulations!"
We took our time going back to Erebor, and it took two weeks. I was now 11 weeks along, and hardly showing(no surprise there).
I was glad to be home, because all the traveling was getting old. The only place in Middle-Earth I had never been was Gondor.
I was finally relaxing in the living room on the couch.
Thorin sat beside me, and slipped his arms around my waist. I laid my head on his shoulder.
"Are you ok, love?" he asked softly.
"Yeah, just a little tired, that's all." I told him.
"Well it is 11, so we should probably get some sleep."
"Ok."
I went to stand up, but Thorin was up before me, and he picked me up bridal style.
"Thorin! I can walk!" I laughed.
"Sure you can, I'm just not letting you." he grinned, kissing me passionately. "You're pregnant, remember?"
"Yeah, 11 weeks! Not very far along!"
"Oh well."
When we laid down, he slipped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer, turning me to face him.
I laid my head on his chest, and hugged him.
"Good night... insane one." I smiled. He kissed the top of my head.
"Good night, my love."
