Maeve POV
My alarm buzzes early in the morning, around 0430 (4:30 am). I feel asleep in Ashton's room on the small blue love seat across from his bed. I got around two to three hours of sleep which is a lot for me. Most people would say it's unhealthy to get so little sleep, which for normal people it is, but I take a special medication that cancels out the sleep deprivation. I only need about ten hours of sleep a week because of it. I like that because I can get more shit done within the day. Like last night, I called my boss.
"This band, the members are such idiots!" I whine.
"This one employee, she's so bitchy and annoying!" My boss mocks me.
I sigh. "When you called me before about the girlfriend situation, what exactly did you mean by 'get closer to one of the boys'?" I ask.
It's his turn to sigh. "You're so fucking clueless. Remember One Direction where you were one of Gemma's best friend? It's for publicity sake. You have the damn paparazzi following you around everywhere. You are like on the watch list of criminals everywhere. They are targeting you. So if you are a girlfriend if one of the boys, and change your last name maybe, just maybe, the criminals won't catch on. They are all idiots anyway, we are three steps ahead of them anyway."
Fucking hell. I have to be a girlfriend of either Michael or Ashton.
This is when I start ranting in Arabic about how it was unfair to put me in this case. There may have been a few 'minor' insults to Agent One, but let's not talk about that.
My head shakes at the memory of that conversation. I absolutely hate being in this position. Agent One is even going to get me a fake Instagram and Twitter for this. What the fuck, this is serious.
I do a quick in home workout that I can do anywhere, but my body aches to run. I love to run. Something about it relaxes me, which is very uncommon, for me to be relaxed. I know there is a treadmill somewhere in this hotel, and possibly a pool for swimming laps.
I leave each of the sleeping boys a note on their phones, conveniently placed near their beds. They each day the same thing;
Went for a quick run/swim. Do NOT open any doors or windows because the alarm is still running. If you do, you will basically get sent to jail and I can't control that. If you need something, ask one of your bodyguards. Jax (my dog) is still here, he is really friendly, just don't piss him off. Get on his good side now.

Stupid boys will probably get sent to jail anyway.

Jax starts to bark wildly and runs around the large hotel house. I've seen this look on him. He's found something while I was gone and wants to show me. Jax gets very proud in these moments.
All the boys look up from their phones wondering what the pup is barking about. I simply wave it off and follow the dog.
The German Shepherd puppy leads me into Calum's room. He lies down next to the suitcase with his nose pointing to a small pocket. I tell Jax to wait as I unzip the pocket. The first thing I see is a pack of cigarettes. I laugh. This is what Jax was so exited about. Nevertheless, I give him a treat and walk back to the boys, cigarettes in hand.
"Calum, boys. Jax found these cigarettes in Calum's suitcase, probably while I was gone. Goes to show that you can't hide anything from us. I'm going to have to throw these away other wise Jax will literally kill something if he finds them again. Calum, do you have any more?"
The kiwi boy pulls out a half full version of what is in my hands and a lighter as well.
"Might as well keep the lighter if I can't have my cigs." He says.
I nod my head politely because I know it can be hard to give up smoking. Calum tells me it's just for when he gets stressed, but I doubt that. At least I'm keeping him alive for longer.
