Maeve POV

My gun is tucked under my dress, fully loaded and the safety off. I watch as the boys walk towards me with a concerned look on their face. We can't talk inside, so I flick my head to the back door so I can fill them in.

"The interviewer, very dangerous." I say simply.

"So let's get out of here." Calum says making a move towards the car.

I hold my hand up to stop him. "Here's the plan."

"Please welcome 5 Seconds of Summer! Luke, Calum, Michael, and Ashton!" Avery says with a fake voice.

The interview goes on, and everything is going smoothly. S.W.A.T. Teams are outside of the building backing me up. I'm ready for when she makes a move.

"That girl in the black dress over there, is she any of your girlfriends?" I hear a girl in the crowd ask.

Ashton smiles at me and I nod. "Her name is Makayla, and she is a close friend of ours. She's helping with set design and technical thingys. Yeah that's the correct term." He blushes a bit.

I smile and nod innocently as if I can't kill anyone. An 'aw' falls over the audience as I give a shy wave. Playing innocent and shy is always fun.

"And now the boys will play, from your requests, an old hit, She Looks So Perfect!" Avery says, almost cutting Michael off from answering a question.

That's when I know.

I give the S.W.A.T. Team the signal from my watch. Two simple taps and the team is ready to make sure that she doesn't escape. Ashton looks up at me and I quickly blink twice. This causes him to drum a certain rhythm on his box drum. The boys all shake their heads twice to let me know that they are ready. This all happens when they are playing their song.

Just as they are finishing the song, Avery comes up behind Calum, and I see him stiffen. She's holding a knife at his back.

A single shot rings out. The wall next to me has a small hole in it.

The audience screams and all hell breaks loose. Security ushers most everyone out safely. There is a girl, around 16 or 17 years old, on the ground next to me. Bright red blood stains her white pants and I see a big slash in her thigh. I rip off a strip from my dress and make a make shift turnicut. Wanting her to stay safer than she already is, I move her to the corner and tell her to stay there until paramedics come to get her.

"Well well well. Look who we have here." Avery taunts.

I slowly stand up, seemingly unarmed. "Good afternoon Avery." I spit her name out.

At this point, it's the two of us. Sure, the team is still in the room protecting me, but this is now up to me. They would shoot her if she makes too big a move, or if my life is in danger.

"What do you want Avery?"

"Oh me? I just want to talk." She drags her knife against the wall making a small score line.

"Let's do it then. Fair fight, no weapons." I say.

She looks at me curiously as to see if I'm really serious. To show her that I am, I put my pistol down on the floor and the small throwing knife I have with it.

"Watch too."

I set my watch down with hesitation. That's my only form of contact with the boys. They've been whisked away from the scene and taken somewhere safe. They have no idea if I'll be safe.

Avery gives me a wicked smile. She sets the knife down on a chair, and takes two other small knives out as well. Her shoulders shrug as to tell me that's all she has.

"Bull shit. Do you think I'm that dumb? Your boots, and the gun as well." I call her out.

A look of worry or almost defeat flashes across her eyes. She kicks off her Michael Kors and revels a small gun from her back. How she got it there is a mystery.

"Happy Hunger Games." She says.

"And may the odds be ever in your favor." This starts the fight.

Just like her father, she attacks with an uppercut sent to my jaw. I was predicting this, and I duck and jab her in the sternum. This knocks her breath out and I have enough time to send her to the ground. Her legs aren't stable.

Her foot sends a kick to my knees and I wince. She takes this time to scramble over to a chair which she proceeds to throw in my direction. I easily jump over it and leap on top of her. I lock her arm in an arm bar.

"You don't have to do this Maeve. Or should I say Makayla."

A drop of sweat makes its journey down my face. "Oh but sweetie, I do."

I thrust up causing her arm to break. She screams in agony and lets out a grunt in frustration. I let the poor girl go, after all I just broke her arm. I don't, however, expect her to put me in a head lock.

She smiles an evil grin, blood dripping down each of her teeth. "You weren't expecting this were you?"

I look straight ahead not saying a word. Something pierces my skin and I feel a warm liquid flowing down my neck. I struggle to breathe.

"That's right sister. Breathe the fresh air." She taunts.

Two shots are fired, the grip around my neck loosens, and everything goes black.

Hello people! What do you think? Do you like the action? More of the boys next chapter. Have a good holiday!
