Maeve POV
I yawn as we wait to cross the border into Canada for the Vancouver show. In the last couple of days, sleep seems to have been escaping me. I've been more focused on work outs whenever I can't sleep. I'd say that I've only gotten 4 hours of sleep in the past 3 days. It's not much, but I've gotten through worse. The line is barely moving an inch and I am sick of hearing the boys whine about it.
"How much longer? We've been here forever!" Michael complains.
"I swear to god all of you, the next one of you that complains will meet the friends in my bag." I motion to the bag of weapons I'm holding.
Michael looks hurt, but quiets down. I sigh running a hand through my hair. I didn't mean to snap at the boys, but I've been so stressed. The wall behind me acts as a pillow as I lean my body against it.
The line moves forward about two feet and Michael cheers. Ashton casually pulls me to the back of our group. He grasps my hand with his.
"You okay? I know you haven't been getting much sleep." He says. The other boys are busily invested in talking about guitar riffs.
I shake my head. "I'm just tired. My head hurts a bit."
Ash frowns and glances to the scar above my ear. "You'll be okay for the show tonight right? I mean, you can stay in the dressing room and nap or you don't have to come but I'd like you to come." He rambles
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine, just focus on playing your heart out." I smile to reassure him.
He slightly nods and puts his hand on the small of my back. The contact makes shivers run down my body. I secretly smile at the small gesture. Do I like this relationship?

The thin blanket that covers me barely keeps me warm as I turn on the small sofa. I can hear the soft roar of the crowd even though I'm quite far away from the stage. The dressing room smells of sweat and men's cologne from past artists. The aroma of chips and cookies hits my nose from the plate of snacks right in front of me.
I've managed to catch a few hours of sleep while the boys were rehearsing and actually preforming. Definitely feels good to have some sleep. Especially after dealing with 5 Seconds of Summer.
My feet shuffle against the carpeted floor. I know I won't get anymore sleep, so I'll just watch the rest of the show. The tech crew greets me as I pass by them. I give them each a small smile or nod as I make my way to the stage. There, security guards stand by the entrances to the stage with flashlights in case anyone needs to go on stage in the dark. It's nice seeing everyone pitch in to help with the show.
I lean against some unused speakers as I watch the show. Michael and Luke are currently having a guitar battle. I really want to join them. Only Calum has seen me play, and that was only chords. I quickly explain my idea to their publicist who happens to be at the show tonight. She laughs and says that's it's a great idea.
The crew puts one of Mike's guitars around my shoulders and adjusts the strap for me. Michael likes it to hang low on him, but I find that it gets rather heavy where it falls on me. I'm soon rushed on the stage before the boys end their battle.
I strum a little bit and play a quick riff. I hear the crowd roar as I move into their view. Mike, Luke, and Ash all look shocked and stop playing. Calum smiles and continues to play, almost like he knew this was going to happen.
"Give it up for Makayla!" Cal yells into his mic.
"W-What're you doing Makayla?" Michael asks shakily.
Luke offers me his microphone to use, "I heard the guitar battle, and I want in. You guys kinda suck." I watch as Mike glares at me. "I'm kidding!"
"Put your money where your mouth is little girl." Michael taunts.
He plays a riff to get me started and Ashton picks up on a drum beat. I tap my foot along as he is finishing. My fingers fly as I pluck the different strings, coming back with my own riff.
"Hey Mikey, she's pretty good!" Ash yells in his mic. "I want her in the band!"
"She can't just replace me." Mike complains.
"She can and she will. I mean, let's let the fans decide. Scream Makayla if you want Makayla!" Luke yells.
The fans scream my name and Ashton crashes his cymbals in approval.
"Now scream Michael if you want Michael!"
And the only person to scream is Mike. The arena busts into laughter. Mike begins to fake cry and I give him a friendly hug.
"Now get your ass off stage!" I say into his microphone.

I only played the intro to one song before Mikey came back on. We jammed out to the rest of the song until I had to leave. I can see what the guys mean when they say that they get a rush while preforming. It's one of the best feelings.
Currently, we are on the bus heading to the next location. I lay restless in my bunk as the guys are laughing in the main area. The clink of beer bottles fills my ears as I turn to face the wall. My head aches as if the sound is too loud. I groan as light fills the room of bunks. The bunk under mine shifts as Luke climbs in under me. He apologizes for waking me and the other boys file in to catch some sleep.
"Good night Maeve." They chorus.
"Good night my boys."
I would never trade moments like this.
Signing off,
Maeve.I'm not in love with this chapter. I really don't like this chapter. More of a filler, but I think the next one will be okay. Leave me suggestions of you have any, I would love to add them. Leave a comment or vote if you enjoyed! Thanks
