It's been awhile. School is hard and I have commitments. This writing comes after school and my previous commitment, hope you understand!
Maeve POV
My instincts kick in and I rush to where Ashton fell. I see him lying on the ground clutching his head. Strings of curses leave his mouth as he is in so much pain.
"Someone get the EMT's!" I yell to anyone who will listen to me.
At this point, Mike, Luke, and Calum all came off stage leaving the audience alone. Luckily, they give me some space to I can try to help Ashton.
"Ash, Ash listen to me. Tell me what hurts, Ash."
"My back and my head, oh god, my neck too." He moans in agony.
I place my hands on either side of his head to prevent him from moving his neck. He could end up even more injured if he does. Let alone the pain. Flash lights suddenly light up the area as more people rush over.
"Ashton, I know it's hard but you can't move. I don't know the severity of your injuries, but if you move it will be worse. And keep your eyes on me, don't close them. Just keep looking at me."
He must have a concussion because he keeps trying to close his eyes. I wave Calum over to squeeze Ashton's hand every time he tries to close his eyes. The EMT's still haven't shown up.
"Michael go get my bag, and Luke get some water or something." I command.
Michael soon drops the bag at my feet and Luke places a couple of water bottles at its side. I know I should really wait to do anything, especially when I'm not a medical professional, but Ashton is in so much pain that I can't help myself.
"Luke, come hold Ashton's head, like I am right now. Don't you dare move, Luke. You could fuck him up even more than he already is. Understood?"
Luke nods and takes my place. I tell Michael to go tell the fans that the show cannot be continued because Ashton is hurt. The fans will be disappointed, but they are more concerned about Ashton's safety. I hear Michael ask the fans to delete any videos they have of Ashton falling, out of respect.
Crafting a make shift neck brace out of tongue depressors isn't the easiest thing I've ever done. I place two of the pieces of wood on either side of his neck. The only thing I have to secure them in place is medical tape, but I also wrap gauze around his neck just in case.
Ashton seems to be cradling his left arm, so I check to see if it's broken. Luckily, it's not, but only bruised. He seems to be doing fine other than his back and neck pain.
Finally, the EMT's show up and take over what I have been doing. They carefully take off my homemade neck brace to replace it with an actual one. Once he is ready for transport, they load him onto a gurney to bring him to a local hospital. Ashton is then put in an ambulance and I climb in the back with him. I hear the rest of the band complain that they cannot go with Ashton, but they are soon quieted by one of the EMT's closing the door.

"Why wasn't he harnessed in?"
"How did he even fall?"
"Why did we let him up so high anyway?"
"Do you think he's going to be alright?"
My anger rises and I can't stop myself from snapping at them. "All of you shut the fuck up!" I exclaim. "Ashton is going to be fine, stop worrying."
Michael sighs. "But what if he isn't? Will we have to stop the tour?"
I rub his back. "Ashton will be fine, I promise."
My glances move from each boy to the next. They all have red eyes from crying and I can tell that they haven't gotten any rest. And they won't get any rest until Ashton gets better.
"Maeve? Come on in." I hear a doctor say to me.
The hospital room is plain and bland. White walls with very light blue tiled floors. There isn't any wall decorations except for a rectangular of sunflowers. Medical equipment is neatly organized and stored in cabinets perpendicular to the bed. This place is quite sad and lonely, the only life there being the patient, Ashton.
As I walk into Ashton's room, I see him laying in the hospital bed. His eyes are shut and his chest is slowly rising with his breaths. The heart rate monitor beeps slowly, making us all aware that he is still breathing.
"Ashton seems fine. He'll only have some back and neck pain for a couple of days, or maybe a week. Nothing is broken or severely injured which is great, considering that he fell from so high. Good thinking with the makeshift neck brace. He probably would've been more injured without it." The doctor says to me. "Just keep him well rested. Have him lay in bed for a few days and not much physical activity. Ashton's body won't be able to take all the activity. He'll be fine, just make sure to give him something for the pain. We're going to release him tomorrow when he wakes up."
"Thanks Doc." I say.
He nods curtly before exiting the room leaving me alone with sleeping Ashton. The sound of the chair screeching against the floor breaks the silence as I move it closer to the bed. I sit, not knowing what to do or say.
Sometimes I wish I could predict the future; it would prevent times like this. I would be able to stop everything from happening. All the bad in the world would be gone. It would make my life easier. And so many more people would be alive.
That's the only thought I have when I hear a gun shot and a scream from the hallway.
Signing off,
Maeve
