I checked the demographics to see how world wide my story is. Let's say that I am pleasantly surprised! Thank you all for reading, no matter which country or hemisphere you live in, I love you all! I also wanted to apologize for being MIA, I have been taking a break from writing. I wanted to improve my mental health a little more before continuing. I hope you all understand!

Maeve POV

We are on the road today. Just me, the four Aussie boys, and the bus driver. I kind of feel bad for the bus driver because the boys keep asking how long until the next destination.

I am actually very excited for this next stop. One of my only friends lives here. She doesn't know that I will be in town, but I think that she will be happy to see me. I want to set her up with Michael, but I'm not sure how Michael will react to her.

Currently, it is night and everyone is asleep except for me and the driver. The boys soft snores fill the bunks. I sigh as I turn in my bunk which is above Ashton's. I listen to his rhythmic breathing. His breath is steady and slow. I try to match it to help me fall asleep, but it doesn't work.

I slip out of my bunk, careful to not wake anyone up. My feet are silent as I close the door to the bunks behind me. I'm in the main room now, where the small kitchen is and seating for 8. A guitar is carelessly laid on the couch waiting to be played.

Move it slightly to the side, but decide to leave it in my lap. I haven't held a guitar since my time with Ed. My fingers fly over the frets even though I don't play yet. My hands instinctively start to play some simple chords. I hum a tune that is not heard on the radio.

"What are you playing?" A voice asks behind me.

I almost drop the guitar as I jump from my position. Calum makes himself visible to me as he rests his hand against my shoulder. He apologizes for scaring me.

"It's nothing." I respond.

"It was good whatever it was."

It was a song that Adam always sung. I guess he came up with the lyrics himself because I can't find it anywhere. I called up Ed Sheehan after Adam.. Ed helped me with chords and fine tuning the lyrics. It's like an actual song now and I always find myself humming it when I need to.

"I didn't know you could play that well." Calum says interrupting my thoughts.

"Ed taught me. I'm still a bit rusty, I haven't played in a long time. Shouldn't you be in bed?"

Calum sighs and pets Jax who is currently sleeping. "To be honest with you, I wanted to go for a smoke at the next fuel stop." He shows me his cigarettes. "I know you don't want me to have these, but they help me when I'm stressed. I heard you playing and I couldn't stop myself from listening. It was good."

I think I'm going to let the cigarettes slide just this once. "I'll share it with you one day. Go back to bed."

The Kiwi boy nods and trudges back to his bunk. I really should do the same, but I don't think that sleep will come easily.

"You know, Ave, I don't think I've ever had a better partner." Adam says.

"That's right. I saved your ass today."

Adam was about to step on an IED when I noticed that the ground was slightly dug up. I pulled him back just in time to avoid his death. We fell onto the tan dirt as the explosive went off, but it was small enough not to kill us. Debris rained all around us.

"I was about to notice it."

"Yeah, you would've known when your little ass was being blown to bits."

Adam starts to hum a tune that seems unfamiliar to me. I try to listen to the lyrics when he eventually starts singing, but I don't recognize it. I ask him about it.

"It's just a song that I know. I'll teach it to you tomorrow. Get some rest Ave."

"But Adam-" I start to argue.

"But nothing. C'mere," he opens his arms so I can lay next to him on the couch with my head resting on his chest. "Get some rest"

I soon fall asleep to the unknown lyrics.

"Hey Maeve. Maeve!" I'm shaken awake by Ashton. "We're at the next stop, somewhere you requested to stop at? There's a girl who claims to know you." He trails off, not really knowing what to say.

I smile at him. "Thanks."

Signing off,
Maeve

Hey again! I hope you all understand why this is short and why I took such a long break. I wanted to get something out for you, so I apologize for the quality. But anyway... tell me how you enjoyed this chapter!
