~Coffee Date~

Hay's P.O.V

We managed to get rather close to the front to watch maiden live. I was
rocking out pretty hard and had inadvertently started a mini mosh pit
which when two bulking guys joined (By bulking I mean muscles) Matt
had to rescue me. Run to the hills soon came on, it was without a doubt one of my favorite songs. Matt ducked down swooping me up over his shoulders before
straightening out. I had a perfect view of the stage.
"Woooo hooo" I screamed as I moved with the music being sure not to lean to far
and make Matt topple over. "Soldier blue in the barren wastes
hunting and killing their game. Raping the women and wasting the men,
the only good Indians are tame. Selling them whiskey and taking their
gold, enslaving the young and destroying the old." I sang along at
the top of my voice.

When the song was coming to an end Matt placed me gently back on my feet
and we headed off as that was the end of Maidens set. We found Jay,
Zee and Padge outside the bus, they had somehow acquired several deck
chairs. I pop down in one and Zee chucked me a beer.
"Cheers big ears."
"How was maiden?" Zee asked.
"Amazing, you should have joined us." She scrunched up her nose.
"Wasn't feeling it today."
"Uh you sicken me, how can you not feel maiden?" I gasped. She
shrugged.
"I can't wait to see sevenfold, and Metallica though."
"Too right, do we know what time their set is at?"
"We start in about twenty minutes." I glanced behind me to see Zacky
walking over to us.
"Hey, what you doing here then?" Zee asked a smile from ear to ear.
Smitten I tell you, pure smitten.
"I came to collect you girls, thought you might like a stage view?"
"Really? Are you for real?"
"Yup. So is that a yes then?"
"That's a hell yeah." I bound to my feet as did Zee.
"Great, you guys coming?" Zacky asked the others. Matt left a note for
Moose telling him to meet them there if he wanted and we headed off,
I noticed Zacky lacing his hands with Zee's I also noticed Jay saw
this too and his face morphed into one of anger. I hurried over and
nudged him shaking my head.
"I can't help it." He whispered. I patted him on the shoulder.
"I know it can't be easy for you."
"I'll be fine." He shrugged me off and sped up going ahead of everyone
else. I couldn't help feeling a little bad for the guy. I still think
what he done was shitty and I cannot understand why he done it when
he actually clearly still loves her. But I also imagine none of this
is easy for him either.
"I'll talk to him later." Matt said coming up beside me.
With a nod I reply. "I'm worried about him."
"We all are." He then cleared his throat and stopped us letting the
others go ahead.
"Everything okay?" I asked feeling worried.
"I uh, I was just wondering if you wanted to maybe go for a coffee with
me later, after our sets?" He looked nervous as hell and I swear he
was blushing.
"A-are you asking me out on a date Mr Tuck?"
"No, not at all." I must have looked upset at this as he quickly went on
to explain. "I mean, if I was to ask you on a date, it would be
proper, you know dinner movies, the works. I just thought we could go
get away from thee chaos for a bit, chat and you know..." My face
softened.
"That actually sounds nice. But uh where exactly are we going to get a
coffee around here?"
"Leave that to me." He grinned before we hurried to catch up with the others.

Sevenfolds set was amazing. Zee and I sang along to every song. Once they came
off we chilled with them back stage until it was bullets turn to go
on. Then again we watched side stage. I took this opportunity to tell
Zee about Matt asking me out for coffee. Like me she asked if this
was a date so I explained what he told me.
"Ekkk, I'm excited for you." She hugged me.
"Well it's only coffee so..."
"He likes you, that is obvious. And if I know you like I think I do you
like him too?" I paused trying to hide the smile that was slowly
making its way onto my face. "You do." She cheered.
"I do, I really do, but we still don't know each other all that well."
"Well being stuck on this bus for the next four month I am sure you will
have plenty of opportunity to get to know each other." I nodded, I
was sure she was right.
"Or maybe it might make us sick of each other before anything begins."
I added.
"I doubt that. Well just have to make sure that doesn't happen won't
we?" She grinned.
"Anyway, you looked all smitten with Zacky earlier."
"I told ya, were just having fun."
"What kind of fun?" I raised a brow which earned me a slap on the arm.
"Get your mind out the gutter woman, it's not like that."
"Really...So if he asked, you wouldn't?"
"Oh well I didn't say I wouldn't."
"Wouldn't what?" Syn asked appearing behind us with Zacky.
"Nosy."
I bopped him on the nose before turning my attention back to the
stage. Zacky wrapped his arms around Zee's waist and swayed her to
the music.

Once bullets set was done it was time for us to get our set underway. Zee
started with her song as she did on the first night of the tour. Then
we played four songs off the album and a special bonus song that
wasn't on the album but was available as a single on iTunes. The
crowd responded well to us and by the end of the set I was more than
sure our fan base would grow more. We thanked the crowd and said our
goodbyes. We headed back stage where we rested up for a while before
sevenfold invited us to their bus for a few drinks. We agreed but Zee
and I both had the condition we stopped for food first. They agreed
with that said Matt suggested He and I go into town, which there was
one a few mile down the road. Grab some take out food and booze. With
everyone agreeing to that idea We hopped into the rented car
sevenfold had rented for the weekend and we were off.

"So I know I said tonight for that coffee but it looks like that might
not happen so why don't we grab it now while we are out?" Matt
suggested as he drove.
"Sounds like a plan, but won't they get snarky if we take forever with the
food and booze?"
He shrugged. "Won't kill them, the beer tent is there if they get that
thirsty." He grinned before placing his iPod on the dock and
pressing play. Slayers south of heaven came blasting out of the
speakers. I sang along then looked to Matt when he didn't.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure you can as me anything."
"Does it not drive you crazy, don't you just want to belt out along with
Tom?"
"I want to, I am in my head, but physically I can't, my brain just won't
allow me to. Unless I'm in a performing environment. You actually
remember that?"
"Of course I do, I was wasted but not that wasted."
"You fell off the bed." He gave me a side smirk.
"I know, that was an accident though, you made me laugh too much, I
leaned back too far is all."
"sure, blame me." He chuckled.
"It was. I wasn't that bad."
"So you remember everything?"
"Everything." I repeated. "Even my embarrassing confession, if that was what you
were driving at."
"I was, sorry."
"It's okay, I don't know why I told you, I've never told anyone. It's not
something you tell people. Most people don't get it."
"That's their problem, you have your reasons and they should respect that. I
do." I said nothing only returned the smile he flashed me.

Once we reached the tampa we headed to the nearest Starbucks we could
find. Once there I chose a caramel latte as my drink of choice while
Matt went for an iced mocha. We took our seats. "I made the mistake
of telling Zee about your offer. She got over excited and I had to
explain it wasn't a date. She is convinced we are into each other and
were going to get together."
"Aren't we?" He asked. I flushed red.
"What going to get together?"
"Into each other? I mean I wouldn't have asked you if I wasn't and I guess
you wouldn't have accepted if you weren't, at least a little bit."
Oh ground swallow me up now, why did I have to bring that up.
"I guess your right."
"You don't sound sure?" He questioned.
"No, no it's not that, it's just despite being on tour together we haven't
had much time to ourselves to get to know one and other so I am
trying not to read to much into my feelings right now. I mean until
we have had a proper chance to get to know one and other." I felt
myself rambling, "You know what I mean?" He chuckled and gently
took my hand in his.
"I do, I feel the same hence why I invited you for coffee, so we could
have some time away from everyone else, to have that chance to get to
know each other on a one to one basis. I'm not wanting to rush into
anything, as I am sure you are not either?" I shook my head, "Then
lets just grab moments like these when we can and see how things
unfold naturally?"
"I like the sound of that." I smiled feeling relaxed knowing he was in
the same mind frame as me about this whole thing.

The rest of the time Matt and I chatted, shared stories of childhood,
band stuff and everything in-between. I had a really nice time. Matt
was sweet, caring but not overly, like annoyingly like some guys can
be. He had it spot on. Eventually we had to grab the food and booze
before heading back, we had already been near two hours. They would
be pissed.
