Hay's P.O.V:

That evening Zee and I were making dinner for the guys when i realised we had forgotten to pick up one of the main ingredients.
"No matter i'll pop out and get it, i'll pick up some beers too." I said
"Great, while you do that i'll get the prep done so when you come back it's the case of cook and put together then serve."
"Right then, won't be long." I flash a smile and grab my keys from the coffee table.
"You going out?" Jay asked pausing the game he and Matt was playing.
"Yeah forgot something earlier, do any of you need anything?"
"Uh yeah if i give you money can you buy some beer?" Matt asked.
"Was planning on buying some anyway."
"Well here take this and get a bit more, can never have too much." He handed me a 20 and a 10.
"Okay doke, any particular kind?"
"See what's on deal, beer is beer to me." With a nod i headed for the door.
"Can i come with?" Jay asked.
"I suppose the company would be good." He chucked the controller down and followed me to the car.
"So there is a reason i wanted to come with you." He informed me as i took off down the street."
"Oh what reason would that be?"
"I need your opinion."
"my opinion? On what exactly."
"Earlier i bought a present for Zee and i want to know if you think she'll like it. Or given everything that has happened is it too much."
He pulled out a small ring box. "It's not what you are thinking." He said noticing my reaction. He flipped it open to reveal a beautiful silver ring with a purple heart shaped gemstone in the middle and it had a bit of design on either side. (See pic) "It's a promise ring. I want to show her i am serious about her but without the commitment of engagement which i know would be to much right now."
"To be honest Jay i am not sure how she'd feel about that. I know you guys had a talk yesterday and though she didn't tell me what was really said she did say she needed time to sort out her thoughts and feelings on the situation so i may suggest you hold off on the ring just for a little while until she's had the time she needs to sort through how she feels." I sighed "It is a beautiful ring Jay and i know she will love it when the time is right, i just don't think Christmas is but at the end of the day that is your choice, but i'd honestly consider holding off a little. Maybe a new year gift?"
"Thanks. I guess you are right, i think i'll hold onto it a while and i'll wait til i feel the time is right. Good job i bought a back up." He grinned.
"Which is?"
"Nothing that could be interpreted as too much too soon."
"So no Jewellry?"
"Nope."
"Then you should be safe." I flashed him a smile as we reached the store. We headed in and i grabbed the missing ingredient and beers, Jay grabbed a bottle of JD and we headed to the check out.
"You planning a party?" I asked nodding at the Jack.
"Nah i just fancy some is all."
"Fair play."
Back at home I handed Zee the missing ingredient.
"Ah can't have spaghetti bolognese without spaghetti." She laughed, "Cheers. So all the prep is done, the mince is on a slow cook and should be ready by the time the spaghetti is and then we can throw it all together then voila."
"Awesome, smells delicious already." I said sniffing the air as the kitchen was filled with the sweet smell of bolognese sauce."
"Nothing beats homemade sauce." Zee said bringing a pot of water to boil.
"I agree."
"Anything we can help with?" Matt stuck his head in the door.
"You can set the table if you like?" i Replied i handed him cutlery and placemats.
"Anything else?"
"Nope, dinner shouldn't be too much longer," I said as i made a start on cleaning up. Zee was an awful messy cook.
After dinner the guys kindly done the dishes while Zee and i chilled with a beer. When the guys were done they joined us and Matt asked who was up for a guitar hero competition, guys versus girls. Of course we were up for kicking some butt. I went against Jay while Matt won against Zee so a decider round between the winners was needed, Matt versus me and i was still sore from losing last time so i had to bring my A game.
"Bat country?" I asked
"Sure thing, the song choice doesn't matter to me, i'll kick your ass either way." Matt chuckled.
"Ha! Yeah right, if you think you can beat me a second time you can think again Mr,"
"We'll see babe, we'll see."
"I vote we make this more interesting." Zee Said
"How do you propose we do that?" Matt asked.
"you win Us girls wait on you guys hand and foot for 3 days. If we will you wait on us for 3 days?"
Matt and Jay exchanged a look before they agreed we had a bet.
"Come on Hay you can do this." Zee cheered.
"No pressure." I laughed.
...... I won
Zee and I done a celebratory dance while the guys sulked on the couch,
"Starting first thing in the morning you two are ours for 3 whole days." I informed them.
"I think this is a good time to open the Jack." Jay said going to the kitchen grabbing four glasses and the bottle of Jack.
"I can't wait until we get to lapland. I'm so excited." I said sipping my Jack
"Me too, i feel like a kid again. You know how exciting christmas was as a child."
"Me too." I agreed with Zee
"I gotta say i am really looking forward to it too. I'm usually on my own so it's nice to be with people." Jay said.
"Thats kind of sad, why are you usually on your own, don't you spend time with family?" I asked.
"I've not spoke to my parents in years."
"How come? You used to be so close." Zee asked. Jay diverted her gaze and instead looked to Matt who gave a slight nod. "What was that?"
"No point in lying to her." Matt said to Jay.
"Jay... Why don't you talk to your parents anymore?" Zee demanded to know.
He let out a heavy sigh, "Because of the way i treated you." Zee gasped in shock.
"Jay... I'm so sorry they shouldn't have done that."
"No don't worry about it, that was just the beginning after that things were said and... well it's in the past now but believe me if it wasn't that it would be something else."
"I feel bad though."
"Don't honestly, they had issues with my entire life choices." "Anyway let's not bring the mood down with crap from the past." He plastered on a grin while topping up our glasses.
